This table is perfectly-sized for a small apartment or in-kitchen tea/coffee area. I was afraid the look of the 'marble' top would be too cheap-looking, but, although it is a laminate/sticker coating, it has a nice sheen and does not look inexpensive at all. The top has the 'marble-looking' coating, and the underside is white coated mdf. I'd recommend using place mats for hot/too cold meals. Before retiring and living on fixed income, I consistently bought furnishings that were well-designed, modern, in a quality level I describe as "4 out of 5 - 5 being top quality. With good care, my furnishings could last and stay beautiful as long as I needed them - not top quality/price (value) but above-average. My tastes have not changed, but my budget sure has. Finding Nathan James products has been a joy for me. I purchased the Lucy table after tons of research on Amazon and elsewhere. When it arrived, we assembled it without trouble (my husband was able to do it himself - as usual defying the directions that advise two people at certain steps of assembly.) However, there was a noticeable fault on the pedestal base that was there when we unboxed. I thought I could tolerate it, but after it was assembled, I found it bothered me, and I could not tolerate the blemish. I contacted customer support assuming they would send metal paint or a new base. Their response was some of the most phenomenal customer service I've ever experienced. They replaced the table. And they now have a delighted customer for life. I will go to them first to match future furnishing needs they happen to supply. The table itself is solid and looks terrific in the nook where we have it set up with two Cherner chairs. We understand that the table top is not marble and we treat it accordingly. I do like the size of this table. I am pleased with the base. However, I was surprised by the material of the table top. Unfortunately, I haven’t had it long and the plastic has chipped. I don’t expect it to last very long since I do not like broken things to stick around.

The product looks beautiful. I hate to leave a bad review. I’ve ordered the product twice now. I’ve attempted to have the item refunded on numerous occasions and cannot. Can anyone assist? Amazon has done amazing with trying to process my refund but it would not.

From a distance this looks nice. The top is a very cheap-feeling plastic. The base is really heavy (which I consider a good thing). It was pretty easy to set up. It rocks a little because the base isn’t even. For the price it’s ok, but I’m not raving about it.
