One piece would not screw in so it hangs down. The instructions are a little difficult, but that can also be due to my confusion of setting up refraction mirrors for the first time. Maybe all telescopes are like this maybe not? It's okay, your kid will still be happy either way

    • Lunar telescope can only view the moon. No planets.
My son was happy to get the telescope, he was a little disappointed when he discovered he could only look at the moon with it.

My 7 year old son wants to be a NASA scientist and this year he wanted a telescope. This one was just what he wanted. I know, we looked. We put it together after he opened it the day after Christmas. I was concerned. It came with 2 high level lenses. The level 1 lense was no where to be found. I was frustrated and on a whim emailed the company. I noticed a phone number and thought, what the heck. I was so surprised! A real person answered the phone. She was so helpful, and got a level 1 lense in the mail right away. She also sent me tracking and responded to my email. What a pleasure! I didn’t have to spend a million hours returning or tracking down missing parts. My son is happily planning his trips to Mars and looking at the stars through this telescope. We ordered this item as a Christmas gift, it was sent in Nov to be sure to be recieved 4 Christmas, it wasn't until Christmas day I found out that the packages I sent all at the same time, that showed delivered, in fact never arrived, I was thinking I just lost 150.00 worth of gifts that I was going to need to spend again because of the time frame for which gapped the discovery, but nope all the folks including this company never asked a question and resent the missing items right away, this particular item was perfect in every way, from cost to durability, to usability, to be honest even if this item was less than hoped for, the service these guys added without hesitation is a thousand times more valued than the gift itself, thanks again, you are truly a valuable asset to amazon and your customers ... show more
