Fully recessed install was a little tricky instructions left alot to be desired but overall great unit. TV remote does not interfere with it as others have encountered. I have used w differnt samsung remotes with no issues. Coming from Amazon warehouse it was in great shape. I don't expect it to heat our whole living room but it gives off decent enough heat. This item fit the size opening it said to make and easily installed flush mounted. The only thing that I find a little irritating is the graphics on the remote. I ahve to keep reading the instructions because those graphics just don;t mean what they want them to mean... But the unit looks very nice, and produces a nice ambiance. ... show more

    • This fireplace can't be used if you have a TV. It goes nuts responding to TV remote controls.
I mounted this on the same wall as my TV. The fireplace is pretty, heats well, looks great, but I can't use it if I'm using my TV because the fireplace responds to the TV remote control. When I change channels or scroll titles on Netflix, the fireplace goes nuts, heat coming on and off, colors changing, etc. The only way I can run the TV and fireplace at the same time is turn off the fireplace while I use the TV remote, then turn the fireplace back on afterwards. Not a good design. I've contacted Napoleon and searched Amazon, got no answer on Amazon and no response from Napoleon. In a few weeks, I'll take it back out of the wall and disassemble it, find the IR receiver, and disable remote operation. Hopefully I'll receive some support before then. Update 14 Sept 2020. I just heard from Devin at Napoleon. Devin said that Napoleon is only concerned if the remote that comes with the fireplace works and they won't do anything in response to me having to turn off the fireplace to use my TV. Devin suggested I cover the sensor for the remote, but didn't bother to tell me where the sensor is or how to cover it. I'm an Electrical Engineer, I'll find it, but I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase this unit if the official factory response to requests for help is to do nothing. Update 15 September. I received another email from Devin repeating that Napoleon won't do anything about their remote control issues, advising me to "only point the TV remote at the TV" or "cover the infrared sensor". This explains a lot. Devin has never used an IR remote control, so it's not his fault he doesn't know that IR remote controls are selected BECAUSE they send a wall wide beam, you can't "only point it at the TV", everything on that wall is lit up by ANY infrared remote. Anyway, he provided a totally useless response, I already knew they weren't going to do anything about their remote control issues, he told me that on the 14th, and instead of telling me how to cover the IR sensor, he simply said to cover it. Right, like I didn't already try that. If I cover half the fireplace with cardboard, yes, cover 36 inches of 72 inches, the IR signal still reaches the sensor. I'm considering just sending the fireplace back, except it was a lot of work to mount. ... show more

We remodel homes and this purchase was for one of those properties and it looks great! We tore out the old, outdated fireplace and replaced with this one. Looks great and couldn't be happier with the decision. We've tried other brands and were not impressed with the quality as we are now with Napoleon which our new go to.
