In the past couple weeks I've drilled AT LEAST 120 pen blanks using this. It's a little slower drilling than a drill press but that's the lathe's fault. If I'm not careful the holes can be a little off but it really doesn't matter on the finished product. I was thinking of buying a drill press but this works so well for me I may just buy another lathe so I don't have to change chucks out as often. ... show more

This Lathe Chuck has made it super easy and reliable to drill dead center for pen kits. Easy to swap in and out with the mandrel, only takes a couple seconds.

The jaws work fine, mostly. I had a problem with the jaws seizing today, and the pins broke trying to loosen the jaws.

This is garbage. Not even close to center. It's off by approximately ⅛ inch from center. Pitiful product construction, especially when the intended use if for drilling straight holes into pen blanks. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
