I watched some YouTubes on how to install the MyQ smart garage door video wired kit. It was easy to install. The tilted garage holder allowed you to set it to a better coverage of your driveway. It took me about 45 minutes as I installed it and ran the wires along my garage rail and my shoulder cuff needs replacement so I choose this route temporarily. The wired power adapter worked great when I plugged it in the electrical outlet next to the garage opener. I will reroute it in the spring but this will do in the cold weather this winter. The wire is thin so it’s easy to thread under the vinyl siding or eave overhang over the garage. This was the best lower price I had seen for this wired kit. The wired kit allowed me to set up all the notifications in the app. The battery was draining to fast so I like this wired kit much better. ... show more

Doing weekly battery maintenance is a real pain, and this kit is less expensive than getting a 2nd battery. The batteries require a MICRO USB cable which is ridiculous deprecated technology. It was very easy to install and run the plug up to the door opener. The 25' was barely long enough for me, I only have about 2' left over. Make sure you measure before ordering, but worst case you need an extension cord. I did notice there is an aftermarket 30' option. I did not need to drill any holes, as I had some molding on the garage frame that I ran it behind. I just pried the molding out about half an inch and pushed the wire through behind the molding. EZPZ. You will need a "PRECISION" phillips head screwdriver, that's a little one like for eyeglasses, to adjust the swivel angle and connect the wires. ... show more

Does exactly what it is supposed to do and it is easy to install. It keeps the camera running without the use of a battery. It is important to know that when installed, the battery is removed and replaced with a hardwired power pack. In cases of a power outage, your camera/door opener will not work. Just sure to keep the battery around in case of power outages. Then you can simply swap the battery back in until the power comes back on and your opener will still function as long as your garage door has a battery backup as well. ... show more

This is the option that should have come with the camera in the first place. By having this and full power you don’t have to worry about dead batteries any longer. The kit comes with a new mount bracket that allows you to swivel the camera more. I chose not to use it as I think so Done could cut the power wire through the gap between the two pieces. Since you are now using a power plug you have to either run the wire around the door or you can do what I did. I used a masonry bit to drill under the original mount, through the block and into the garage. This allowed me to fully protect and hide the wire so it can’t get cut. myQ Smart Garage Door Video Keypad The product worked great but the issue is the battery. Life expectancy was less than 30 days when you’re using all the features. It does put a lot of drawer on the battery, but I came across this product and there’s many of them out there of clones, but I wanted to stick with the MQ so I purchased it very simple to do Just takes a few minutes couple little holes and I would say within 20 minutes you got up and running I’ve not been using this now for about 45 days. Let me tell you it’s so nice not worrying about the battery. It’s always fully charged and I have to say go for it if you use this product it’s so nice not worry about the battery.     • Great way of eliminating batteries for video keypad
The 120V wired adapter is as described. It was easy to install. Just drilled at an angle from the outside to the inside and ran wire through the drilled hole. I mounted the video keypad holder over the drilled hole - hiding the hole. The included wire length was long enough to do the job with approximately 2 feet left over. I ran the wire to the ceiling receptacle that the garage door opener is plugged in to. The installation was simple and quick - about 30 minutes.
