I'm using these to store fairly heavy stuff... Hundreds of pounds per shelf. Close to 1000 lbs. on one of them. They are holding up just fine. They are a tad wobbly but nothing severe. Any shelf built this way would be wobbly without attaching to the wall or something. Very good for the money. I bought two and then put em together in garage. After 2 months or so I decided they were great and worth getting 4 more. For the price, these are great shelves. One piece of advise is to put the bottom shelf all the way to the bottom. It's definitely stronger that way. Especially if you try to slide them with anything on them(not recommended). The frame is a fairly thin piece of slotted angle iron. Will bend at the bottom if you slide across the floor with weight on it. They are fine as long as you empty most of the weight off them before trying to move. Oh, and they're super easy to put together with just a mallet or soft hammer. 1st one took a little time but then it probably was 30 minutes for the next, if that!! Definite good buy! ... show more

What I wanted: Inexpensive, basic, sturdy shelves for basement storage. Appearance is utilitarian at best. Unless you are an octopus or a mutant with four arms or are prepared for a lengthy frustrating hassle the first shelf assembly needs two people. A rubber mallet was essential.

I ordered two of these shelf units, the exact same model - hell, I simply changed the quantity to "2" when ordering from Amazon. However, they sent me two mismatched shelves - a UR361872PB5P... (the model that I ordered two of) and a UR361860PB4P.. (of which each vertical post is 6" shorter and it has one less shelf). I realized this when I unboxed them to assemble them after two months had elapsed. Construction quality on these is very good - I own a total of five of these units in total now, and have had no issues with assembly or functionality.
