    • Great plates even with a few cracked ones
These plates are a great price and work as one would expect. My only gripe is of the two orders I have made there were a few cracked plates in both orders. The second at least had all the 10plate bundles wrapped in bubble wrap which seemed to help. For the cost a couple of cracked plates is not going to run my day and still makes these cheaper than the others. I have not had a contamination issue with any of these plates thus far. ... show more

I opened the box and all of the packages were wrapped in a huge layer of bubble wrap. Every single pack I took out of the bubble wrap had a slit in it. Not 1 of these bags is sterile. The price made this seem like a great deal but now I have 200 dishes that are useless

Every "sterile" package had a slice in it, rendering every package non-sterile and thus useless. It could be my mistake if only one or two packages were sliced, but all 20 packs of 10 dishes had a 1-2 inch slice cut into it

    • Faulty packaging. We need to have a zero-star option
I use petri dishes for making agar plates for mycology. This particular brand is NOT, in my opinion, suitable for that usage. I will not sacrifice my precious cultures to unsterile dishes. The flimsy plastic sleeves that these are packaged with is unacceptable. Torn. Slits. And you can't sterilize these dishes. I will run some contamination tests on these to see if they are salvageable, but when something is labeled as "sterile", I expect that every step of the manufacturing and packaging process be done according to hygienic best-practices. Only by batch-verifying with agar would I use these in any quality-critical procedure. Though I probably will not use these. ... show more
