  • Good Quality, Clear Instructions, Easy Assembly
Style: 12 x 20 FT
Several neighbors with similar buildings complimented the quality of the framing and of the roof panels. I put the frame together by myself but having two people would definitely make it faster. Parts are clearly labeled and fit together very smoothly. A couple just needed a little tweak with some pliers where the slot edges were very slightly bent from shipping. Be thoughtful of which side you put in the screws. I managed to end up with some on the outside edges, exposed to the weather, and on the bottom, which meant the entire frame was resting on those screw heads instead of the full length of the framing. Plan on an hour and bring a serrated steak knife to remove the packaging. Box cutter was pretty worthless on the straps. The self-drilling screws use a 5/16 hex head. Because the frame is thick, each screw takes a while to drive in. I found that a medium speed worked better than a high speed. I was tending to drive too hard and stripping the threads so I started hand tightening them. My neighbor, who has done a lot more construction than me was able to drive them "just right" when we did the roof panels. The roof panels were well sized and easy to handle. The straightness of the first row is critical since the rest of the rows slot into the first row. Very happy with the results. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble with help.
Style: 12 x 20 FT
All the instructions were easy to follow . I didn’t use the the insulation tape since I only bought it to protect my vehicle from hail.

  • Great value for the money
Style: 12 x 20 FT
I’m 62 years old and I put 2 of these together by myself. It’s a little difficult but it’s very doable. I did a lot of research and these were the cheapest metal carports. They are quite durable and a great value for the price. Highly recommend.

  • 2 people mandatory, the more the better.
Style: 12 x 20 FT
I'm sure there are ways to do this by yourself but I wouldn't want to. It took about half a day from start to finish. My wife and two 12 year olds helped. Make sure to pay careful attention to how the ribs are oriented on the first row and be absolutely sure you start straight and centered and you will be fine. It went together well. The only thing I would really recommend you watch out for is following the instructions closely with regards to how each piece overlaps (and again reiterate that your first row must be straight and centered or you are gonna have issues). I did not spend enough time ensuring my slope down hill was uniform and you can see it in the photos. They send quite a few extra screws so don't freak out if you lose some. The option of a carport for most people is essentially: 1. Buy a frame and large 2x12 panels 2. Purchase a model with installation included from an all inclusive website 3. Buy this.... Option 3 was the cheapest and that's why we chose it but just be aware you will need to screw down a ton of panels because they save on shipping as small pieces. This results in lots of seams and lots of room to misalign something but we managed and it looks good. Time will tell if it is leak tight and holds up. I strongly suggest spending an additional $80 on 8x hurricane tie downs and several tubes of 100% silicone caulk. I'm planning to hit all the seams and screw heads with the caulk and tie down each corner with two stakes each. Those ground spikes are not going to be enough if it's in a windy area like we are in. EDIT: Either forget the silicone or find a way to put it on during assembly. There are two issues. Firstly, this stuff is so thin, it is not going to support your weight and I don't care who you are. Secondly, these pieces have a thin plastic film covering them and I am wondering if the silicone is even going to stick to it. I had a massive downpour the other day and didn't have a single leak so I may take my chances and forget the silicone. I'll keep it in the cabinet just in case haha ... show more

  • Not Galvanized
Style: 12 x 20 FT
Might be good for a rabbit hutch or chicken coop, but too thin and is piecemeal (not long pieces). Would not hold up in stormy weather.

  • Has some shortcomings...
Style: 12 x 20 FT
About 2 years ago I assembled a very similar carport, so when I bought this one, I figured it was the same one only marketed a bit differently. Not so. There are two things that cost me time on this carport, the first is that the drawings/instructions had no dimensions shown anywhere, nor is there a written dimension to be found. The only place I found dimensions was in one of the illustrations that were part of the Amazon site advertisement, and even then, the interior width was obviously wrong being 2 inches off when compared to the overall width. The thing that consumed the most time, however, was the lack of screw pilot holes on the outer tubes where the tubing is joined. This causes a manual marking and drilling for each screw (two per joint minimum per plans)- even using a hole template it represents a hassle that is not necessary. The manufacturer needs to update some things to make the assembly easier and faster and perhaps make an instruction sheet downloadable (I searched everywhere) so you know what you're in for. edit: I forgot to add that I had to use a file to de-burr each end the female end of all the tubing to get the joint to fit. That should have been done at the factory before the tubing was formed from the flat stock. The previous carport I assembled (different brand) had no such problems. ... show more

  • Well-made and easy to assemble.
Style: 12 x 20 FT
Frame fits together very precisely and has a durable-looking finish. Finished frame and roof look nicer than a lot of metal carport. I laced 6 foot by 50 foot sun shade fabric for extra protection without upping the wind load too much. I also used 10 inch concrete anchor bolts, each set in 60 pounds of concrete. I was able to assemble this product alone. ... show more
