I thought that once we got a bird that we'd have to give up using so many kitchen appliances that we like using, because unfortunately nowadays, PTFE (more commonly known by brand name Teflon), and PFOAs are in literally everything from small and big appliances to hair straighteners/curling irons, nonstick dishes and usually ANYTHING that says nonstick (e.g. microwaveable popcorn bags, oven liners)- literally everything, and those chemicals kill birds when heated. And the chemicals are very bad for our health too anyway, and can cause cancer and so many health problems, so we want to avoid it for our sake too, but it is so difficult to find products without these chemicals, which is maddening. The company that makes this toaster has a lot of products that do not contain PTFE/Teflon and PFOAs. I saw online after some research that this toaster was not supposed to contain these chemicals, but I was still nervous about getting it because it didn't mention it in the product description on the company website. However, when I received it, I found that it does say on the last page of the user manual for this toaster that all of it's parts are PTFE, PFOA and BPA free. :) We are so, so grateful to finally be able to use a toaster again, and we are so happy to have found a company that has so many products that do not contain these chemicals, that we can now use, and keep our bird, pets and our family healthier and happier! :) ... show more

    • Accommodates two bagels to longer artisan style bread
Very happy with this toaster purchase. I have been impressed with Mueller products after buying a Mueller single cup coffee maker (actually two, one for work) to replace my Keurig that stopped working several years ago. When my old four slot toaster quit toasting, I purchased this one which I’d been eyeing due to the toasting slots being both wide and extra long. The toaster itself is longer than a standard toaster (14.75”) but that’s because it handles everything from two bagels at a time to extra long slices of artisan style bread (slices from round boules of sour dough, raisin-walnut etc) so that I no longer need to cut those slices in half. It’s more pricey than others but the quality and greater variability of function makes it easily worth it, and judging from my Mueller coffee makers, it will last for years.     • The only poster that will fit a bagel and trust me. I’ve tried a lot.
I have bought more toasters than anybody I know all because I cannot find one that fit a bagel without having to squish the bagel first and this one was perfect. Yes, I’ll admit the cooking is uneven but that’s OK. I turned them around and put them back in for half the time it’s worth it in order to get the bagel to cook without having to squish it first. ... show more

Toaster is excellent. In addition to working very well, it is very sleek and clean looking. I bought this brand because I have another Mueller product that is very well made and I've had forever.     • Learning curve with the settings...
A versatile 4 slice toaster. You can fit in 2 full bagels, 4 pieces of toast, and 4 English muffins with ease. Does a nice even job toasting everything and thicker bread products are well protected from the heat so there is no burning. Easy pull out tray underneath collects crumbs well. I was surprised by the sleek design. It looks nice on the counter. The toaster is a bit longer, rectangle shape but not exceedingly large for a 4 slice toaster. Very lightweight and can easily be moved in and out of a cupboard. The settings were tough to get used to. I can only describe it as a learning curve. Once you hit your stride you can more than likely leave it on a single setting and be happy with the outcome of whatever you put in there. Nice toaster that does it's job well. ... show more

People have complained that it does not do one sided. I use the air fryer for that or the broiler. But it makes perfect bagels and toast on both sides and handles four slices or extra long sourdough perfectly. A great value toaster.

Eureka! After 80+ years I've found it, the perfect toaster. I've never, ever had one that toasted the bread an even color until now, a perfect toasted piece of bread. It toasts really fast too. The stainless steel enclosure is top grade and very pretty. The settings are super easy: power switch, light/dark and cancel switch. I chose this one because it toasts long slices, such as rye bread. Good toaster. After a couple of duds, it's amazing to me how in this day and age, it seems to be so hard to make a machine capable of toasting a piece of bread the same way every time. This one seems to do it consistently, unlike some others that with the same setting and the same type of bread come out differently every time. Typical Chinese trick by naming it so that it sounds like it came from Europe when in fact it is of course made in China, but at least they did a good job on this one. ... show more
