This toaster is amazing. So happy I bought it. Looks amazing and had an awesome lcd display. Looks super high tech but very user friendly. Was amazed at the price especially comparing this to the selection they have at department stores.

When my behemoth 4 slice Black and Decker monstrosity stopped working on one side, I decided that it was time for a change. I ran across this single wide slot toaster while looking to downsize to a 2-slice model. I didn't even know they made one slice toasters! This is the perfect downsize, and fits up against the side of my fridge on the counter, only taking up 4-1/2 inches of width. No complaints on how it works. The lever doesn't feel flimsy, and the number 6 browning level gets most of my breads to my preferred toasted-ness without having to run it through again. AND...joy of joys, my homemade rye sourdough slices do not have to be trimmed to fit. I like that I can push a button and the toaster will defrost my bagel before it toasts it. It is made in Austria, not in China. The controls are intuitive, it remembers your setting, and the important parts are not plastic. I am happy with this toaster, and its sleek look. And I have reclaimed a whole square foot of space on my kitchen table.

This is very different from any other toaster we've bought in the past. It's the first toaster I've used where you insert bread end-to-end. The slots are wide enough to accept crumpets and cut bagels and other products of similar size. I do like the stylish design and easy to understand LCD display. The toaster settings seem more powerful than normal toaster settings, I have to turn down the number more to get my desired toastiness. I prefer mine nearly burnt, so a setting of 3 or 4 (out of 6) is pretty accurate. The door at the bottom is removable which is nice. No more shaking the toaster out over a trashcan. Just remove tray and take it to the trashcan instead. It has a defrost feature. I tried it with 2 frozen pieces of toast stuck together but it just toasted the outside, leaving the pieces still stuck together and frozen in the center. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong, I don't know. Anyway, defrosting... that's what microwaves are for. I also haven't used the reheat function and likely never will. OMG BAGELS!!! Why didn't I mention bagels??? I recently discovered bagels from Randall's and we have become addicted to them ever since. We have a problem, yes I know but I can't find and bagel support groups in our local area. Depending on the bagel size, this will somewhat do the job. Small bagels fit perfectly, but the larger asiago cheese bagels just won't fit. I have to toast those one-half at a time, then turn them over to toast the underside because they stick out an inch at the top. So I burn a few. Setting 4 is too high for bagels. Try 2 or 3. After this updated review I'm going to get a an asiago cheese and jalapeno bagel from the freezer and devour it with a crazy look in my eyes. You knew it, didn't you? No support group, remember? While it's all cool, sexy-looking and all that, I do have a few issues with it but only one major one: 1. It's long and skinny, nearly twice the length of a normal toaster, so finding the perfect countertop space for it could be challenging. 2. It has a very powerful spring action when the toaster pops. I've sometimes found my toast laying on the countertop or sideways across the toaster after it came out. I have even had it land both pieces in our sink on the garbage disposal... no I am not kidding. Perhaps designed by NASA to launch toast into outer space? 3. The worst feature, although not a dealbreaker is it doesn't toast evenly. Meaning it will leave about a quarter of the toast untoasted or barely toasted at the bottom, noticeable by a dividing line between the toasted part and untoasted. I don't know why this happens, but it seems designed that way to frustrate people such as myself. I'll add a picture later to illustrate my point. 4. You cannot flick up the handle a little bit after it's finished toasting to "pop out" stubborn or small toast like you can on a normal unit. It stops fully at the top. Once it's done, if it still 'aint reachable, then a game of Operation with a pokey object is in your immediate future. Other than that, it's a pretty good unit. If you want to play catch with your toast, or create uneven abstract toast-art, or even just admire your own reflection in the shiny finish, then this toaster is for you!

Great toaster! Good buy Love the simple & clean design, still works well after 4-mos of use. Hidden crumb tray at bottom, easy to clean. Very large opening is good for toasting a lot of different things, usually at setting 3 or 4 (out of 6) for me. The Larger 4-slice has a pretty large footprint on the counter! Measure your space and make sure you have the room to leave it there all the time. If not, the smaller 2-slice version is the same width, but only 1/2 the depth and fits nicely as an alternative. The smaller one does not throw off as much heat as the large one does (which is a significant amount - I would not put this one “under counter” for safety).

I really wanted to love this toaster, as the aesthetics are perfect. The size is perfect for my small countertop - takes up much less space than my previous unit. The stainless look matches my large appliances well. However - it does not toast very well! It varies on how it toasts depending on the type of break you put in. A regular sandwich slice seems to do okay most of the time, but a large sourdough slice (which is why I bought this style in the first place) does not do well at all. You are given 6 ranges of "doneness" to choose from. 1 and 2 barely get the bread warm. 3 isn't much better. 6 will burn the bread. That leaves you with 4 and 5, with not much difference between them. The large slice using 4 gets the end parts of the bread somewhat toasty, but the middle is barely warm. 5 isn't much better. Even using the "a little bit more" button doesn't accomplish much. The ends just get almost to the burnt stage, but still not much color in the center. My wife doesn't like the controls at all, but they don't really bother me. The coils in the center section seem to be getting hot, but why the bread doesn't get any color is puzzling. It's a shame. The look of the unit is perfect - just what I was looking for. The performance, however, is lackluster. I have used this for some time now, hoping that with a little use, it would do a better job. There has been no change.

This toaster is so far the best toaster we’ve ever had. It’s perfect for larger pieces of bread. It toasts so evenly! Its sleek design takes up little space and it’s rather stylish as well. We originally got one for our daughter going to college and lived the way it toasted that we ordered one for our house!! Gone is the big bulky toaster that that we’ve had for yrs and doesn’t toast near as well as this one. All the setting work perfectly. It’s been a great purchase.

Definitely works for its intended purpose. Gone are the days that I had to tear off the edge of my bread to get it to fit. But...apparently gone are the days of the Bagel setting too. I don't know why I didn't pay attention that this didn't offer a Bagel setting...seriously just figured that was a standard feature on all toasters, but I was wrong. Because I like my sandwiches only toasted on the inside and not the outside (to prevent the roof of my mouth from getting scraped on toast), I'm dinging it a star for not having it regardless if I should've noticed it wasn't in the features description. For those that sometimes peruse over descriptions looking for specific features forgetting to check for standard ones, I'm making sure to note that it doesn't have a Bagel setting here. Someone mentioned to me they would never buy another digitally set toaster and I didn't understand at first what they were complaining about. Now I do. Although I can live with there not being a setting in-between two of the set values to give me that perfect toast (something you can do with the knob one), what really gets me is that my wife likes setting 4 and I like setting 3. And this is how it plays out in the morning. She gets up first, goes to the toaster, puts her toast in and notices it is on 3...so she pushes the + button and it goes to 4. She's good, toast is great for her. I wake up and put my toast in and upon noticing it is on 4 I have to push the + button 5 times to get it to 3 because there is no - button. Every morning...push, push, push, push, push just to finally get to the setting I want. At least it's my problem and not hers because if it was the other way around, this toaster would've been in the trash a while ago. It was frustrating tearing off the edge of the bread to get it to fit into my old toaster. But that one was easier to set the perfect toast level I wanted regardless of what it had been set at before. I'm still not sure which of the two is worse. If this had a Bagel setting and a toast level knob OR a - button it would be a 5-star toaster. But with the missing Bagel setting and the poor toast level adjustment feature the best I can give it is 3 stars (and if out of my frustration with having to push the setting 5x every morning I end up smashing it, I'll be sure to come back here and change my rating to only 2 stars).
