Rarely has an inexpensive product purchased from Amazon delivered for me such a high degree of satisfaction. I let my basal thumb osteoarthritis go too long, to the point where my affected right thumb, and the complex joints supporting it that are prone to arthritis, had made my right hand pretty much non-functional. For example, I had to switch the process of turning a key in a door lock to my left hand because the force required when using my right hand brought on acute momentary pain to my right thumb area. I was resigned to having surgery to get back the use of my right hand. But surgery on the thumb is tricky and the result is sometimes worse than the untreated thumb. Still, surgery may eventually be required for me. This excellent brace has given my right hand a new lease on life. Much of the pain in my thumb region was coming from my thumb being extended to the edge of its upward or downward range, something we normally do all the time. In my case, repeated use of my painful thumb got me to the point it started waking me up at night. Out of near-desperation I opted for this brace which, though inexpensive, is robust and very good at its function, which it to fix the thumb in one neutral position, greatly reducing the onset of pain because the thumb is not free to roam around the extremes of the complex joint structure supporting it. The thumb remains usable for light-duty functions and the brace rarely gets in the way. I wear mine most of the time, and always when sleeping. After only a couple of weeks of use, my basal thumb arthritis symptoms have gone down by, I would estimate, 80 percent. It is not a cure, but the brace’s stabilizing effect for your thumb keeps away most of the symptoms, which is the next best thing. Even when subjected to nearly steady use it is comfortable to wear, easy to clean (I temporarily remove it when doing something messy in the kitchen), and the fabric from which the brace is made is sturdy but not rigid. Once accustomed to the brace’s presence, my right hand has “learned” what it can do safely, and what it should avoid doing. After this short time, pain from my thumb is greatly reduced and intermittent in nature, as opposed to chronic. Highly recommended. ... show more

Due to severe "thumb arthritis," twisting open a "super-tightened lid" (e.g., a personal blender cup, bottled jar,, prescription/pill bottle ...) has been very challenging for me, or sometimes I couldn't open it at all. Therefore, I needed a good "thumb & wrist brace" which covers and stabilizes a thumb (2.3 in. long), the cartilage in the carpometacarpal (CMC) joint, and a wrist (5 in. circumference). 👍This Muller brace "fits my small hands" (3.4 in. width) AND "gives solid support"! 😄Now, I can open the lid with no or slight pains. 📌TIP: For "greater support" on a thumb and CMC, I shortened a thum strip and a middle strap. I made two Adhesive Strips (0.5 in. W x 1 in. L) by cutting an Adhesive Strip (1 in. W x 3 in. L), super-glued it onto each strap (right next to an existing adhesive strip), and cut off the strap affixed the existing adhesive strip. ... show more

This thumb brace has 3 separate straps that truly allow you to adjust the brace to fit your hand. My hand is XL and this fits perfectly. The thumb sticks far enough out to use bio-security on your phone (thumb print), there is a MUCH wider, rigid and comfortable support bar than on other braces I've tried. The thumb is also kept slightly further away from the rest of the hand than I've experienced in other braces. AND this one only costs half as much. My over-all satisfactory rating is 5 stars and I'm highly recommending it. You won't regret it. ... show more

This thumb stabilizer fits my hand well. I wear a women's size medium golf glove. It is very adjustable so will probably fit other sized hands. I have severe arthritis in my cmc joint. I wear this thumb stabilizer at night which helps prevent the pain from waking me up. My acupuncturist recommended taking Bromelain which decreases the pain also. ... show more

Jammed my thumb pretty bad playing volleyball. I sat out a week but couldn't stay away. My form wasn't perfect, but I was able to enjoy playing and kept my thumb safe from further injury while it healed. For the price I highly recommend it! Easy to put on and good fit.

Much better than DrWelland. The thumb strap on this is very secure. I got this for trigger thumb. It really stabilizes the thumb. Welland did not. My thumb slipped out of it at night. This keeps your thumb straight and that's what you need for trigger thumb. Welland allows for too much motion if you're treating trigger thumb. It must have complete rest. great product.. I bought this due to pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel, which especially causes pain in my thumbs. It was preventing me from sleeping until I got this brace. I'm so glad I made this purchase! It's reversible so can be worn on either hand. The only 2 issues I have are that it's a bit itchy, and the velcro on the thumb part doesn't work as well as the hand and wrist velcro.
