It has some great features but also definitely has some areas of improvement. I have direct experience with manufacturer level OE LET (line end tool) and diagnostic scanners. Here is the bad on this scanner. The overall feel of this scanner is kind of cheap. It's all hard plastic with no rubberized edges for fall or shock absorption. The cord, though adequate in length, would be nice if it was longer. The cord is also sheathed in a harder plastic-y insulation material making it rather stiff and more difficult to work with. The OBD2 dongle itself feels lower quality plastic. It does not come with any type of case for long term storage. It has no buttons so it's limited to touch screen inputs only. The user manual is definitely lacking, mine came with what was called a "manual" but is just a quick-start guide. Despite the lack of a good manual the device is pretty user-friendly and not all that complicated to figure out. The good and the reason I purchased this was because of the amount of features you get for the price point. Diagnostic scanners in the sub $200 range are a myriad of compromises. This scanner will scan 6 modules plus allow you to do to 7 reset features. This pretty much covers all the bases for your everyday backyard mechanic/DIY'er and offers more for your $$ than other scanners in the same price range. This scanner also doesn't require any type of subscription to access the features and has free lifetime updates. I've already used this scanner to diagnose an issue on my girlfriends Nissan Rogue. It was having intermittent issues and this scanner allowed me to see that it was an electrical/communication issue and not an issue with vehicle sensors. This saved me time and money as the issue it was causing was similar to failing crank sensor issue. While the scanner did not exactly pinpoint where the issue was I knew where to look. I started going through the electrical system, battery, fuses, relays, and wiring. Lo and behold I found an old tracking device leftover from the car being a fleet vehicle. The tracking device was causing a a bad ground. Once removed, the car is functioning properly now. ... show more

It's a great reader and shows every information from my car through the connector. So far, I had no issues to report with this product and my car is running well. I still need to use this device more to when my car has a real issue or defect. I can come back to this review when that happens. I'm an older seasoned automotive technician, I'm reviewing this product based on my many years of experience in the field using high quality tools and equipment. This scanner is relatively easy to use, the screen is clear and easy to read, although smaller than expected, the prompts are relatively easy to understand whether you are updating the unit or reading trouble codes, and it has more diagnostic functions than I anticipated. Updating it proved troublesome, finally figured out the USB cord that was included with the scanner was faulty. It is more of a diagnostic code reader than anything, but does show an accurate data stream to make informed decisions regarding diagnostics. Unfortunately the instructions are somewhat poor in nature, the manual, or foldout sheet is useful, but not in depth by any means. The OBD diagnostic cable is much too short to be considered user friendly. Price point is considered slightly high for this item. ... show more

I'm really impressed with how intuitive the OBD2 Scanner Code Reader is. I don't know anything about cars, nor does anyone in my immediate family. So, when something goes wrong with my vehicle -- I'm either struggling to find the information in my vehicle handbook or off to the dealership or repair shop I go. Sometimes I feel like I might be getting taken advantage of, because I'm a woman who knows nothing about her SUV. I'm at the mercy of someone else's expertise. This OBD2 Scanner Code Reader gives me a great deal of information about my vehicle & helps me understand codes that pop up. Now, if I need to take my car into a repair shop, I can tell the technician exactly what I need & talk about my vehicle with confidence. I also like that this device can provide 5 maintenance resets: Oil, EPB, SAS, TPMS & ETS. A few times in the past, I've gone in for an oil change or air in my tires & the guys forget to clear my dash, but now I'm on my way home & don't really feel like going back. I can reset those codes on my own now, without having to take my car back into the shop. Nothing is worse than when the engine light comes on. Will it be a financial disaster or an easy fix? This scanner will let you know. It is pretty easy to use. Updating was burdensome, slow and annoying but was ultimately completed. The instructions are not good. But if you have used similar devices this one is pretty simple to figure out. Used it on Dodge Journey and a Ford Explorer. Got the info I needed and it was spot on. Good after some trial and error. ... show more

I have purchased multiple scanners over the years and all of them are great but each can’t read or reset something or another and your left with buying separate scanners for like abs systems etc. This scanner covers all the bases with code information, multiple live date views, being able to access multiple modules like abs and srs etc. Scanner can display live data in print or graph form, on a large 5 inch display.
