I was also hoping for something that would work well for keeping the mattress from sliding when the bed is adjusted. I have found this works perfectly for my needs. I have even attached the bed control to the side with some Velcro and now never have to worry about finding the remote. I also enjoy the removable “bag” accessory and us it for extra reading glasses and an extra tv remote. I have been able to adjust the height on my bed so that this product is not visible when my bed is made, which is important to me esthetically. It may not be able to go low enough on a thinner mattress to remain unseen. Took all of 1 minute to do so. After one night, he was applauding my purchase. It is so much easier for him to get in and out of bed during the night. Great item. Durable and sturdy. No reason to use the straps. Slide under mattress and adjust as needed. Just what I needed after shoulder surgery to help her out of bed. Ended up buying one for my dad for after gallbladder surgery. Worth the $.

My husband had spinal surgery on his neck and needed a safe way to get up from bed. This bed rail provides a way to get up from bed, as the side guard grip on a hospital bed. We have a very thick mattress and this rail was taller than many competing products on the market. I like that the bottom part (that slips under the mattress) is wide and deep. While the option exists to fasten this device to the wood of a box spring or to add a strap (not provided) to attach to the the bottom of the bed frame on the opposite side, we did not need to do so. The weight of the mattress, as well the weight of my husband, made securing the bed rail unnecessary. I really liked how easy it was to set up with a set screw that locks the device into position. This will also make it easy to fold and transport, should we need to bring it with us if we go out of town to visit family. ... show more
