  • Just an excellent laptop that's a beast of a gaming rig, but won't annihilate your bank account.
CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
I have a an older MSI laptop I got for a really good price several years ago, a GL65 Leopard with a 10th gen Core i7 and the RTX2070 Super. The construction was on the cheaper end of things, and that 10th gen i7 ran darn near hot as the sun. But with some tweaks using Throttlestop, I got the temps under control and it ended up being a fantastic mobile gaming rig. That full tilt 2070 Super was one heck of a GPU for gaming. But it was more on the budget end of their product line and it was obvious. Still, I enjoyed using it a great deal. It wasn't as nice looking or feeling as the Asus laptops I usually bought. But it ripped along nicely when gaming. In late 2024, they had a great deal on an Asus TuF laptop with a Ryzen 9 7940HX and a RTX4070 GPU, so I handed the Leopard off to my son and picked up the Asus. Fantastic laptop as well, but the mobile RTX4070 left a lot to be desired. I was perfectly happy with that until I came across this laptop in December 2025. It was on sale for really good price, and with what I knew of the new mobile RTX5070ti, I went for it. The Vector series are more towards the upper end of their line, and it shows. This thing is kind of a beast when it comes to gaming. The 5070ti mobile with 12GB of GDDR7 on a 192 bit pipeline absolutely crushes the RTX4070 mobile, hands down. I wasn't sure about going back to an Intel processor, especially after using the TuF and its Ryzen 9. And I know the Series 2 chips had issues early on, but it has proven itself to be extremely capable. I did some tweaking to the to the clock curve to help it run a bit cooler, but it ran quite well even in its factory configuration. As for what MSI did with this laptop, it's really a solid rig all around. The laptop's chassis is really nice and solid feeling. The hinges looked as though they might be a bit spindly, but they've also proven themselves to be solid. The keyboard is great, the QHD+ screen is fast, bright, and has a quite wide viewing angle. The cooling solution is very capable, but does get fairly loud when the laptop is running flat out. But I have heard louder rigs and it doesn't bother me much as I almost always use headphones if I'm gaming. The audio solution in the Vector is actually not half bad, especially for a laptop. But it is still laptop, and laptops in general aren't exactly known for their audio quality. But it's perfectly fine for general use, and significantly better than a lot of laptops I've had in the past. The Vector is well loaded with ports having 2.5 G LAN and a full size HDMI 2.1 port on the rear, 2x USB3.2Gen2 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack on the right side, 2x Thunderbolt 5 ports and an SD 7.0 port on the left side. It's a very clean design overall with plenty of ventilation and it's quite easy to access the interior to install RAM, SSDs, or to swap out your WiFi module. Speaking of WiFi, it comes with Intel's Killer WiFi 7 BE1750 for which I have absolutely no complaints. The touchpad is decently large and pretty responsive, but I'm not a big fan of touchpanels, so I almost always have a mouse at hand except when space is too tight to use one. The screen camera is ok, and the microphone setup works decently enough, but nothing to write home about. It does have a manual shutter to block the camera. And of course, it does come with the typical load of bloatware that infests all laptops and prebuilt desktops these days, but if you're comfortable doing it, you can always blow out the system and run a "clean" installation of Win11(Well, as clean as Win11 gets anyway, which isn't saying much.) or your preferred Linux build. I've chosen to stick with Win11 for the time being, but have already uprooted all the Microsoft AI garbage through the use of one of the many methods available online. Doing so does help free up a good bit of resources that MS's AI junk takes up. But overall, I really don't have any major complaints with the Vector. It's just a really good gaming laptop that's well built and comes in at a price that won't destroy your bank account. It's not a top of the line build as far as laptops go, but it also doesn't have that top end price. It does everything it needs to do, and does it really well. It's not as nice as something with a full metal chassis, mechanical keys, and an OLED panel. It has some plastic chassis bits, but still feels plenty solid. It has a chiclet keyboard that's about as good as it gets for chiclet keys. It has a very fast and excellent LCD panel. In my opinion, that's a perfectly acceptable tradeoff to take for an incredibly powerful mobile gaming rig that's probably a third the cost you'd be looking at in anything else with the Vector's specs. Maybe less. It's a bit hard to compare these days with DDR5 and storage prices having gone completely off the rocker like they are now. But if you're looking for a beast of a rig, you'd do quite well to consider one of these. ... show more

  • great laptop love it!! needs a cooler though and the fans are a tad loud
CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
I have watched a lot of reviews, that annoyed me so here is mine, simple and to the point. for a laptop the sound isnt terrible, but most gamers either wear a headset or get a speaker for it. The fans kick on a lot, and for almost every game you play. if that bothers you then keep looking. I bought a laptop cooler from llano and it still revs up during game, but not nearly as bad. It plays everything I want it to with no restrictions and the speed is very very good. battery life to a gaming laptop has never been good, so if thats something you are looking for good luck. Its not heavy at all, its light and the construction is solid. A lot of people have complained its very hard to open to upgrade the memory and m.2 drive, Honestly i didnt have any issues, it was a pain a little but as long as you have a plastic clip and slowly pry it off after watching a few videos its not bad at all. it came apart easily for me and the construction of the laptop hinges etc is pretty darn good. I owned an MSI Katana and this laptop blows it away by far, including the construction of it. just a great laptop I am so glad I bought it. wait for a sale though and keep monitoring the price fluctuations. i give this 9 out of 10 it does get hot but if you use the cooler I mentioned or something similar then its definitely more manageable ... show more

  • My New Gaming Beast after Prime Day
CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
My Three Cents: I spent weeks hunting for the perfect upgrade, and my search finally ended on Amazon last week when I pulled the trigger on the MSI Vector 16 HX AI. Didn’t wait for Amazon Prime day as there weren’t any deals. First off, this thing is gorgeous. The "Cosmo Gray" finish is subtle but stunning, giving it a premium, almost professional look that I love. It doesn't scream "gamer" with over-the-top designs, but the moment you power it on and the per-key RGB keyboard lights up, you know it means business. It feels incredibly solid and well-built, a truly high-end piece of hardware. But the main event is that 16-inch QHD+ display. The 240Hz refresh rate is a game-changer. The smoothness in every motion, from just moving the cursor on the desktop to whipping around in a fast-paced shooter, is something you have to see to believe. Paired with the raw power of the Intel Core Ultra 9 and the RTX 5070 Ti, it's an absolute dream. Getting this laptop from Amazon was a breeze, and the experience of using it has been even better. The MSI Vector 16 is a perfect blend of sophisticated design and monstrous gaming power. If you're looking for a no-compromise gaming laptop that delivers on every front, this is it. It’s a great gaming laptop for sure! ... show more

  • Filled with hardcodded bloat.
CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
The laptop itself is decent but for whatever reason they decided to force Nahimic, Killer and A-Volute bloatware on it. These apps do nothing but waste resources and skew up the functionality of the laptop. They are impossible to delete also. Each uninstallation no matter ho thorough it is will yield no results. These apps will come back on your machine like a literal virus. Some of the issues they cause: Audio deactivation (even your separate headset with its own software) , Performance Issues, Delay on turning on or off as the bloatware must update or reinstall often, Complete System Crash I suggest you look for another laptop if you wish to actually be in control of your PC ... show more

  • Good Machine Can Have Loud Fans
CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
This is a good machine. Handles multiple displays, is very fast and run everything i need it to do. You do need to adjust the fan speed to keep it cool otherwise it will have too much heat and CAN stop working. The fans at full speed are a little like a plan taking off and it can be heard from across the room. ... show more

  • Unsure if its a good machine but currently satisfied
CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
First one I received continually gave me BSOD errors. Had to get a replacement from Amazon and so far after manually updating BIOS and all drivers one at a time the new one seems great. Tested D4 fullly maxed video settings and had no major issues or lag. I have purchased additional ram and SSD drive and will test again to compare the benchmarks. Fans are loud when running maxed but I that's my biggest complaint outside of BIOS .114 I believe it came with and the BSOD faults. Haven't had but one on replacement but due to an old anti-virus app I installed. Upgrade BIOS and all drivers from MSI website before you waste time installing the things you want! ... show more

CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
Should have done a little more research. Laptop GPU's are not the same spec's as a desktop PC. Did some bench marks was disappointed to find my desktop pc with my 4070ti super out performed the laptops 5070ti by a wide margin, really was not even close. Its my first laptop and i hastily bought it with out reading up on things. I like the laptop though, its built well and operates great. I can play the games i have on it (WoW ,Trucker simulator,FPS games) with out any performance issues ,so im happy with that. I Just thought for the 2k+ price tag it would have performed better benchmarks. ... show more

CPU: Ultra 9 275HX RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5070 Ti Style: 16" QHD+ 240Hz
This MSI laptop is amazing it is a beast! It handles every new game I throw at it on full ultra settings with the LSS turned on obviously but still looks amazing getting 240 plus FPS on most games like black ops 7. Highly recommend for the price point I should have waited to the Black Friday deal so I ended up spending a little more than I should have but do not regret buying this this thing is a powerhouse and if you're a gamer trust me you'll love it! Battery lasts a long time as long as you switch to integrated graphics if you keep it on the 50/70 ti it won't last more than 2 hours also fans are very loud when you're running a game but I can't hear them with headphones. Overall great by highly recommend! ... show more
