I've been running this board for about 6 weeks. Works fine with an i7 12700, a single 32gig stick of Crucial ddr5 in XMP mode (will add a second stick down the road), and an EVGA RTX 3060 TI. I didn't even do a fresh install of Windows 10, I just swapped everything and booted up and installed the drivers and I have had zero blue screens or lockups. Very stable. I was half expecting to have some issues with the ddr5 but I haven't had any at all. I think this is my first MSI board. I used to only use Asus or Asrock but I know from experience that Asus boards can be very picky when it comes to ram and I wasn't in the mood for the BS this time. I just wanted to swap everything and get back to my daily routine. I also like that it has a lot of SATA and USB ports. I'm old school, I still rock a DVD-RW and one of my large backup drives is a spinner. Plus I have a few SATA SSD drives that still work fine that I use. Nice simple board. Update 2/9/23. I've been running a 13700k on this board since November 2022 and have had zero issues. I updated the bios while I still had the 12700 in it. I also added another 32gig stick of Crucial 4800 DDR5 for a total of 64 gigs of ram running at 4800mhz (XMP mode) and a Crucial P5 plus 1TB for my system drive and a Crucial P3 Plus 2TB for my game drive. I'm still rolling with the 3060ti. It's been a very solid motherboard, I haven't had a single blue screen or lockup since I bought it. Update 10/27/24. Still running the board with the 13700k but with faster ram. No issues.

This is a fantastic motherboard for the price. I just finished my new build. After turning on my PC, I was worried that I had the memory in inefficient slots. It even told me where to move them to fix the problem. You have to enable XMP in the BIOS on most memory, as it defaults to 2133mhz. This was quick and easy. The SSD slot I used on the board itself also had a heatsink. That's a nice touch. When I installed windows 11 and connected to the internet, I received a pop up window for MSI Center, which updates drivers. That's a fantastic feature. Overall, this board is fantastic. Looks good and worked right out of the box. Can't ask for anything more.

Awesome morherboard but it does have a few issues that could be fixed with firmware updates. 1. The default cpu voltage is too high causing the i7 12700K to hit 100C with the best fan cooler. I had to undervolt the cpu by 0.05v to get the temps down to 85/90C. 2. RAID does not work. Can't get the OS to see any disks when booting from USB with RAID enabled. The only workaround is to disable RAID.

I built everything only to be met with no video. Turns out the 13600k chip is ONLY compatible after a bios update. This was for my brother but mine being 10900k was too old to test most components. After a Google search I found how to flash the bios without video!! Super handy feature. Got bios, renamed to MSI.rom and used the flash back slot and button...bam. next boot I was in business and no longer questioning myself after 25 years of advanced IT :) Super solid no nonsense build. Great performance, great VRM temps. Definitely worth the money!!

Exactly what I was looking for when it comes to a motherboard. I don't want Wifi, I don't want tri bios with a built in display. I just wanted a clean looking and affordable motherboard, with modern features. The 2.5Gbps NIC is definitely a bonus (though I can't utilize it yet... cat 5e in my walls...). No issues at all yet, been running for over a month.

I was reading some rumors online that this motherboard would bottleneck the new 13th gen CPUs. Maybe they fixed it with a bios update, but my benchmarks score higher than a lot of others out there on Z790. A simple bios flash before installing a 13th gen on this board will save you a good amount of money going with this over a Z790 board. Running a 13700k/4090 and am very happy with this mobo. MSI makes great products all around and recommend them highly.
