  • Fantastic Mobo, Well worth the $$
Style: X470 GAMING PRO CARBON
Let me start this review off by saying I am a beginner when it comes to building computers, but when I was putting together my list of items to buy for my first ever personal build this mobo came recommended to me by a good friend who had also purchased the mobo for their build. I needed and wanted a mobo that would support the Ryzen 2700X CPU I was purchasing as well as supporting the 32GB of DDR4 RAM I was grabbing to go with it. Overall everything on this mobo is laid out in a great fashion -- nothing feels too cramped together, everything has it's own space and installing it into a case was a breeze. I will definitely say that this is a STURDY mobo. I was able to handle it and install it without fear of it snapping or cracking, and this is after taking it out of the case once to install a support bracket for my CPU cooler (I changed my mind at the last minute to use a better cooler vs the stock cooler on my CPU). The LED lights are a nice aesthetic touch to this board without being too overwhelming. At least in my case I don't have a lot of LED going on (my choice) so it's a nice soft touch in terms of lighting. All that aside the motherboard runs like a dream. The BIOS are extremely easy to navigate and I have to give MSI major props for creating a comprehensive but easy to understand user's manual for their mobo. I was able to understand what everything was on my mobo because it was CLEARLY labeled in my user manual and on top of that if I was confused about anything the manual pretty much addressed anything I needed to know if I was confused about something so THANK YOU MSI for making beginners like me feel less anxious about installing a mobo! Overall if you're looking for great performance WITHOUT breaking the bank this is definitely the mobo for you! ... show more

  • Awesome product
Style: B450 Gaming PRO Carbon MAX WiFi
I put this in a custom built PC and it’s awesome. Easy to install and had absolutely no issues with it. I bought a 2nd one after a year later to build another pc for my kids.

  • Great X470 board for the price!
Style: X470 GAMING PRO CARBON
I was a few nano meters from getting the Gigabyte Aorus 7 gaming wifi, until I came across this board that had a some pretty good reviews out there. Based on the price to performance of the Pro Carbon and the quality design of the VRM (a wild fin array heat sink not required here) and overall lower temperatures this was a easy choice. Also has an extra 8-pin CPU power connector for future CPU upgrades (Ryzen 3?) or extreme overclocking possibilities. Can't say I'm crazy about the AMI bios interface, but it is more or less easy to use. The only downside I could find on the board is the placement and or design of the M.2 slot which could overheat, being so close under the video card slot with out adequate case fan ventilation. Seems to do well since I installed an ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB and stays around 40C while browsing. I also went with a older style case, the HAF 912 which has a removable hard drive cage for increased air flow which is good for the upgrades I made such as the video card (RX 590) and CPU (Ryzen 7 2700x) that I used for this build. Has solid RGB on the board but not overkill while having support for more lighting if u like a show off build. The Pro Carbon was easy to install and a great board overall! ... show more

  • Great Motherboard for 3rd Gen Ryzen. Get THIS instead of x570 and save your $$
Style: X470 GAMING PRO CARBON
Pros: -Bios was easy to update to be Ryzen 3rd Gen compatible -Good VRM's -Can run 6, 8, 12, or even 16 core 3rd Gen (or older) Ryzen CPU's -I run it 27/7 as my main gaming rig and plex server, with a 3800x, overclocked 5700XT, 32 GB of overclocked RAM, and performance has been flawless. -2x NVME slots -Good CPU and RAM overclocking -Addressable RGB on board and Addressable RGB header -Good on board audio -Good Value especially compared to x570 boards -Intel LAN Cons: -None If you don't need PCIe 4.0 (which you probably don't, GPU's don't utilize the extra throughput, and the increased speeds of Gen 4 NVME SSD's wont be noticeable to the average user) then you don't need the much pricier x570 and this board offers a great alternative (and savings). I previously used this board with a 2700x and was able to easily update the bios to be Ryzen 3rd Gen compatible. I currently use this board with a 3800x, , 5700xt, 32 GB of RAM overclocked to DDR4 3600 16-16-16-36, 1x 1 TB NVME SSD, 1x 2 TB SATA SSD, and 3x 12 TB SATA HDD's, and performance has been flawless. VRM's stay cool even when overclocked. Intel Lan works great. Addressable RGB control through Mystic Light is good. ... show more

  • Easiest Install in 25 years, With all I Wanted and Nothing I did not.
Style: X470 GAMING PRO CARBON
Simply the best install in the 25 + years I have been building my own Gaming Rigs. More than enough room for my big hands, no more standing on your head to install that power-on LED and the like. I just turned 60 and I was afraid this might be my last build - as the print just kept getting smaller (Like 3-4 point type). This, I could read with just my glasses on - did not even need a magnifier to help. The placement of every plug-in and outlet was well thought out and an absolutely No-Pain install. I am really impressed with this in the functioning aspect as well. The new Ryzen 7 2700X and this Motherboard - runs circles around my old FX-8350 with half as much RAM (16GB vs 32 GB). The new features are many and nothing in excess. I do not want or need wireless and saved some cash in the process. I wanted -DVI, HDMI, and Display Ports - I got them all. The only downside to this purchase - is the amount of effort you have to go through to register it for the warranty. But if you keep all your invoices - it is just the effort to register it correctly and you're done. My Brother just asked me If I would build him one - like mine... After my last build 2 years ago - I would have said Heck No! Too much frustration. This build - No Problem! Happy to help. It makes me believe - my next rig will be do-able too! Thanks, MSI - for a great building Motherboard - whether it is your first or your "not yet Last" build - I think you'll love it! ... show more
