Expensive but very high quality. Highly recommended! Exceptional gift for the wine enthusiast in your life. This is the real deal from Laguiole en Aubrac in the heart of France's cutlery region (Occitain/Thiers/Laguiole). Fit and finish is superb and is very satisfying to hold/use. There are no sharp edges (except where there are supposed to be). My hat is off to the artisan who created this masterwork. The hinges were a bit stiff out of the (beautifully crafted wooden) presentation box - but undoubtably that will improve over time, like good wine! Please note that the word laguiole is a generic term, not legally restricted to any one company or place of manufacture - so beware of cheap crap that simply bears the name laguiole. In this case I can vouch that Laguiole en Aubrac is a trustworthy company/brand and you will get every penny of what you pay for. Cheers and good life to you ... show more

This is a very nicely made tool - brushed steel with olive wood insets. Has a nice feel in the hand and is easy to use. All hinges are solid but smooth to work. I like the look and feel of the brushed steel corkscrew rather than the chrome/staineessl version

Waste of money! Craftsmanship, my ass. This junk bent opening a new bottle of wine. My cheap $5 wine shop version did better. It’s pretty, but useless. Save your money. French pos, I’m out $160. Back to my cheap wine shop version
