Description

MSI motherboards let you manage speeds and temperatures for all your system and CPU fans. Total Fan Control allows you check your primary system characteristics in a simplified graphical interface. You can also set up to 4 temperature targets for CPU and motherboard, which will adjust the fan speeds automatically.World’s fastest SSDs can start to lower performance when getting hot. Part of the motherboards heatsink design, M.2 SHIELD FROZR is the next generation M.2 thermal solution to avoid this by offering the best thermal protection to make sure that SSD maintains maximum performance. With more cores’ processors, thermal and power design is more important to make sure the temperature keeps lower. MSI extended PWM heatsink and enhanced circuit design ensures even high-end Intel CPU to run in full speed with MSI motherboards.

  • Best performance for cost
Style: MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
This motherboard is great. I built a moderate performance pc in 2020 with this motherboard and 3 years later it is working flawlessly. No issues playing games or running my architect program. No issues booting up. Great color to build around. Overall would definitely recommend.

  • Holy Cow! What an upgrade over my old X470 MSI Gaming Pro Carbon!
Style: MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
I've now had this installed in my PC since early September 2020. I swapped out the Gaming Pro Carbon for this, and what a difference! I have been running 4X8GB G.Skill Flare X (F4-3200C14-8GFX B-die) and a 2700X. With the Gaming Pro Carbon I could never get the memory to reliably clock above 2933MHz. With this X570 Tomahawk, particularly since I've been running updated AMD AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.1.0.0 Patch C, I can run the memory at 3200MHz with extremely tight timings very reliably. If you are familiar with Ryzen, you know that utilizing four DIMMs and getting them to run fast with tight timings is difficult. So far, I haven't tried going above 3200MHz, but I will, soon. The VRM is amazing - it runs very cool, even with PBO activated. It's amazing how much a motherboard can positively affect a PC's performance, with no other upgrades. My latest Cinebench R20 multi-core score was 4143, which for a 2700X is stellar. My 2700X is not overclocked. Eventually, I plan on upgrading the CPU to a 5800X. From what Steve at GamersNexus has found, Ryzen 5000-series actually run faster with four DIMMs, rather than two. I'll find out. ... show more

  • Overall, I think this is an extremely capable motherboard and is priced to beat the competition.
Style: MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
I purchased this motherboard for building a custom VR rig. This is not a full-size ATX, it is slightly smaller, which helps with system building. I also recently purchased a GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master that cost almost $100 more. It is similar in spec and supports the AMD Ryzen 9. I would say that the MSI sacrifices a few frills, for example, there is no LED code readout on the motherboard and no power or reset switches. In addition, the onboard fan is exposed whereas, with the AORUS, it is hidden under a shield. However, I never see that fan spin, only when it boots. The MSI has a small advantage in DDR4 speeds up to 4600MHZ vs the AORUS supports speeds up to 4400MHZ. I've also used both BIOS's and IMO, they are similar in that they both offer granular advanced control with voltages as well as an easy mode for folks who are just starting out with overclocking. Overall, I think this is a great value for money especially if you are budget conscious and want to get the most for your money. ... show more

  • It’s everything you need and it’s not ASUS
Style: MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI
The media could not be loaded. I’m sure if you’re buying a x570 you know a thing or two about the industry. This board is perfect. It has all the connections you could ask for and more. The BIOS is to be expected from MSI but it’s not bad. Top tier motherboard

  • Unbeatable board at 220; reasonable option at 250
Style: MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
If you can get this at the $220 msrp it has absolutely no serious competition at that price point. Premium construction, quality vrm/mosfet, a chipset fan that can handle intense load but rubs whisper quiet at under ~70-80% speed, an almost comically absurd amount of front and rear io support (honestly one of the biggest drawvacjs to this mobo is that pretty much no case on the market has ALL the front io this can support, but the Define 7 Compact comes close enough for me)... it even comes with removable heatsinks for both m2 slots, complete with silicone thermal pads to help ensure good thermal contact. Minor gripes: the pcie-1 slot nearest the glu is hard to access; the sata ports can be a bit tricky as well and may require removing the GPU to add more; The sysfan slots being all along the bottom of the case is mildly annoying and will likely require extension cables or something for ideal cable management; the ez post leds could stand to show more pattern codes or colors or something to be a bit more informative and offer a clear distinction between “waiting for this component” and “this component isn’t working!”; would be nice to simply indicate clearly whether the preflashed bios supports zen3 or not rather than making you look it up yourself and confirm that the last bios version released BEFORE the new cpus already supported them. At $250 you have a wider variety of mid-high range x570s to choose from. I still think this is a competitive option but that will depend ob how much you value the things it brings to the table (built in wifi6 and bt 5.1, buttloads of fast usb, etc) over features of competing boards. One big ding against it which, combined with the price being 250 pretty consistently now instead of 220: MSI Dragon Center is one of the worst pieces of software I’ve everhad the displeasure of using. I recommend uninstalling all Components other than Mystic Lighting (if you care about rgb) and using other third party tools or bios settings for everything else it purports to do. Both the overall and value for money ratings should be read as 5s if you snag this at msrp. At 250, 4s seem justified. Still, if you want a LOT of fast USB and don’t mind picking a board largely based on what front io it supports, this is a solid product. And its thermals seem excellent, a huge improvement over recent amd Tomahawks and a fitting send off to our beloved AM4. ... show more
