  • Great Midrange GPU for a Solid All-Around Build
I picked up the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB for a PC build I was putting together for my father-in-law, and it ended up being a great choice. He’s not a hardcore gamer, but he wanted a system that could handle light gaming, photo and video editing, and be future-proof enough to last him several years without needing upgrades. The 4060 hit the sweet spot for performance and price. It’s more than capable of running modern titles at 1080p with high settings—he’s been enjoying a few rounds of “World of Tanks” and “Flight Simulator” without a hitch. Frame rates have been smooth, and temperatures stay under control thanks to MSI’s dual-fan cooler design. It’s quiet, too, which was important since his setup is in a shared living space and he’s not trying to sound like a jet engine is powering up every time he boots up his system. Installation was a breeze. The card fit easily in the mid-tower case, and MSI’s build quality feels solid—nothing flimsy or cheap here. Power draw is also pretty reasonable, so we didn’t have to overspend on a PSU upgrade, which helped keep the build within budget. The 8GB of VRAM gives him enough breathing room for creative work in Adobe apps and ensures smoother multitasking when he’s got a dozen tabs open researching woodworking projects or watching how-to videos on YouTube. All in all, it’s a great midrange card—quiet, cool, and very capable. If you're building for someone who wants performance without going overboard or just need a reliable GPU that won’t struggle under a modest workload, the RTX 4060 is a solid pick. My father-in-law is happy, which means I’m not getting tech support calls every weekend—so I call that a win. ... show more

  • Exceptional Performance and Value for Gamers - MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6
As a passionate gamer, I've tried several graphics cards, but the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 has truly impressed me. Right out of the box, the build quality is solid, and it's clear MSI put a lot of thought into the design and cooling system. The performance is phenomenal. Running AAA games at 1440p has never been smoother. I tested titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and I was able to run them at ultra settings without a hitch. The 8GB GDDR6 memory is more than enough for handling demanding graphics, and the RTX 4060 delivers an incredible experience with ray tracing enabled. The frame rates are stable and high, making every moment in-game look beautiful and feel responsive. One of my favorite features is the cooling system. Despite heavy gaming sessions, the card stays relatively quiet and cool, which is essential for those who like to game for hours on end. MSI's Twin Frozr 9 technology works wonders here, ensuring minimal noise while maintaining optimal temperature levels. Pros: Fantastic performance for 1440p gaming and high frame rates. Ray tracing works smoothly, delivering stunning visuals. Great build quality and solid cooling system. Quiet operation even under load. Cons: A little large, so make sure your case has enough space before installing. Overall, I highly recommend the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6 to anyone looking for a top-tier gaming GPU at a great value. Whether you're a casual gamer or a competitive esports player, this card offers incredible performance for the price. You won't regret the upgrade! ... show more

  • Very good quality card.
I upgraded my video card for Msfs 2020. This one works great in my intel home built computer with a good price at the time I bought it.

  • Doesn't have anywhere near the issues people says it does.
It's not a 4090, but I'm plenty pleased with this card over the past 9 months or so for a little less than $300. It's pretty ridiculous that people will tell you that this card is not even suitable for 1440p gaming. Unless you're trying to go 240fps or something, then sure you might struggle with this. What resolution you can play with at at least 120fps will vary wildly by the game anyway. Sometimes fps isn't terribly impacted by resolution either. Some games you can do 4k 120fps on high settings like CS2, but I wouldn't expect that out of CoD whatsoever. And if you don't play all that much of AAA games, this will very comfortably play 4k for a great deal of games, if not then 3k, or 2k if you want at least 80-100 fps. Keep in mind that games are just not well optimized these days at all, so experience will vary per game. If you want to use frame gen, your best experience will be with the game already running at least 60fps (while you're at 70-80ish% gpu usage tops). Anything lower and it'll be smeary, artifacts, flickering, and have significant input delay... if not the game genuinely lagging. If it doesn't have plenty of frames to work with, then it's like an engine starved of fuel. If you're emulating, you can get respectably decent results with stuff even locked at 30fps. There will be some graphical issues, but as long as you have gpu% headroom, input delay shouldn't be all that noticeable, if at all. 60fps tweaks in emulation can introduce numerous issues, and you can just avoid that entirely with framegen with a few compromises. Input lag becomes a major factor when you're trying to use framegen when you're already basically maxing out your gpu. That's not even input lag, that's just performance lag at that point. It's icing on the cake if you still have headroom for a given game (and they didn't somehow mess up their implementation of it), but it's a detriment if you don't with it turned on. It's not perfect, but once you're familiar with it and know how to appropriately apply it, it's quite great and worth the money. Anyone who tells you there isn't much difference between 4k and 2k on a 27inch monitor genuinely needs their eyes checked. 4k you almost, almost can't perceive pixels anymore sitting around 2-3 feet away, and you kind of feel like you're looking through a window. ... show more
