  • Everything just works
Size: ATX Style: B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI
This was one of the easiest motherboard installations I've ever done. I don't think in my... geeze, 19 years of IT, I've ever had a motherboard where I haven't had to immediately update chipset drivers or bios to get it to work, except this one. Built my son a gaming rig using this, and it just works, well. ... show more

  • Great MSI board
Size: ATX Style: B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI
Both this for my girlfriend’s PC I just built for her. First time I’ve used an MSI board in a while and it was great. Really easy to install, and it has a Clear CMOS and Flash BIOS button built in which is convenient. Integrated well with all her components and is very fast. Would buy again.

  • The best motherboard!
Size: ATX Style: MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
After a year I can say that I am delighted, the MSI interface is the best of the best! The wireless chipset is incredibly fast, I don't need to use LAN connection!

  • Good thermal management and sound; OK sound driver support; bad power delivery
Size: ATX Style: PRO B650-A WIFI
I like this motherboard's features, but in order to get the front-panel sound jack to work I had to edit some ALSA-related config files. I ended up upstreaming my changes to a github repository. Despite the effort, my front-panel sound broke again after a kernel upgrade, which is frustrating. The USB ports seem under-powered because my Microsoft Ergonomic mouse and keyboard periodically glitch out every few weeks until I shuffle the receivers to different ports. The front-panel USB 2.0 jack is also difficult to reach and easy to break - be careful! Apart from these problems, the motherboard seems to function as expected and seems to have good thermal management and high quality on-board sound; these were my primarily criteria when buying, so I am happy that they worked out. ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs
Size: ATX Style: MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
I did lot of research and decided to buy this mobo for a PC I built. I do not game but like a fast PC that can handle graphics and some video editing. There was little upside in buying an 850. I doubted I need PCIe 5 for anything. I paired it with a Ryzen 7700x as a very nice fast processing option without breaking the bank and a Lancool 216 case which made the build very easy. I suggest you watch Youtube videos on all these which show build in detail. The MSI board has automatic overclocking although I probably don't need much but it took the memory to 6000Hz. The board had a lot of USB USB 3 ports; the memory was not in the way of the CPU cooler; had both wifi and bluetooth; reasonably good audio for my purposes. All in all a very nice middle of the road mobo that turned out great. It supported 3 NVME SSD's. The BIOS was not difficult and there are plenty of videos to help. It has onboard graphics which I used to get windows 11 installed and everything working well and then installed a NVIDIA 1650 super GPU which did everything I needed. Everything is very crisp. You wont regret using this board. One tip I have is to bench install it outside of the case to get it working with memory; CPU; SSD; Windows 11; onboard graphics etc. I installed the CPU cooler without thermal paste which was fine for the install as it was out of the case. When I was satisfied, I installed in the case. ... show more

  • Incompetent After Purchase Support
Size: ATX Style: B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI
The board is fine (I think, maybe not. Still trying to figure it out). Their customer support is incompetent. I ran into trouble with my computer about 10 months after building it. It worked fine the whole time with no hardware issues until about a week ago. One night it worked fine, the next night, no boot. I tested my PSU with a multimeter and everything looked right so I email led MSI since motherboard would be the next thing to test. They were very unhelpful. I very directly asked if the debug lights would turn on if the board was good if all other components were removed—I was trying to narrow down the hardware issues to be the motherboard. They ignored my question for several messages in which I repeatedly asked before finally responding to it: the debug lights won’t turn on if no RAM is plugged in. It will act like there’s now power. That is a terrible design decision that makes it really hard to debug your problems without having duplicate hardware to swap in and out. They were also unable to follow links I sent them. They asked me what hardware I was using and so I listed everything out and included links to Amazon and then they asked, what RAM were you using? I responded with the same link as before and they say that my RAM is incompatible with our board. Try with one from the list we linked. I asked why it would work for 10 months without issue with incompatible RAM and they never attempted to answer that question. I went ahead and bought new RAM to test what they were saying since I wanted to upgrade my RAM anyway and it still does not work! Perhaps this is me seeking recourse for a terrible customer experience, but I don’t think I’ll spend money with MSI if this is how they take care of their customers after purchase. Right now, my best guess is the board is broken and I’ll need to buy a new and MSI will be of no help. UPDATE: I bought a different board and it worked just fine. MSIs warranty service requires you to pay for shipping the board to them, so I guess I'll go and do that now to see if they'll fix it for me. ... show more
