  • Genious! Can't live without it!
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
I used to hate making deviled eggs. I had to start out with twice as many as I actually needed because I could not get the shells off. Not any more! This is the greatest little kitchen gadget I've found in ages. I now have peeled hard boiled eggs on hand for a quick breakfast all the time and deviled eggs are no longer something to dread! Nothing could be easier. You fill the base up to the line with water and place the egg tray. You use the little pin they provide and puncture the rounded end of the egg, placing it hole side up. It states that it is designed for eggs no larger than "large", which is perfect for our use. You place the cover over the base and rotate it slightly until it latches. Put it in the microwave for the time specified for the degree of hardness you prefer. When it is done, removed the lid, run under cold water for a minute and remove the shells. This is the greatest part, they practically fall off! I haven't ruined one egg since I started using this gadget. Each and every one comes out perfect! And while another reviewer complained about cracked eggs, out of the many many dozens that I have made, I have had maybe one or two crack. I found that you can tell if an egg is prone to cracking by looking at the shell before putting it in, it will look thin or show hairline fractures. Pick eggs that look solid and you should have no problem. Despite continual use for many months, mine also shows no sign of the warping that the other poster complained of. Perhaps she got a defective one? Bottom line is that this works so great, I recently ordered another for our winter home in Florida. I couldn't bear the idea of not having it for 4 months and I didn't want to have to remember to haul it back and forth, so I now have two. I looked at other brands before ordering the second one, but couldn't find any that I liked the design of as well. One feature that this one has that others did not is the silicone handles. This is VERY important with handling something with boiling water in it when removing it from the microwave! If you are looking for something to make up to 4 soft to hard boiled eggs at a time, look no further! This is as good as it gets! ... show more

  • BEST EGG COOKER OUT THERE
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
As other people have mentioned - this item is similar to the other microwave egg boiler, in the shape of a giant egg - that does not have handles. The problem with the other one, is that you have to figure out how to get it OUT of the microwave boiling hot after cooking, without spilling it everywhere. With this one, those little orange handles make a world of difference. The handles stay fairly cool also. This comes with an egg piercing tool, but if I run the eggs under warm water, to take the chill off before cooking - they don't need to be pierced. I have cooked over a dozen eggs so far, and not a single one has cracked. I cook medium sized eggs for 9 minutes, and they come out perfect every time. Excellent time saver. I was NOT endorsed in any way for this review, and I paid full price for the product. I have now had this product for about a month. I have cooked at least 6 dozen eggs over that amount of time. My 12 year old son also loves to use it. We have yet to have any eggs crack, and have not pierced a single one. I will be buying another as back-up - we have become quite dependent on this thing. ... show more

  • Poorly made
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
This used to be a quality product. The eggs sat on a piece of sturdy metal (a tray) that fit perfectly into the plastic frame. On the one I just got, the metal piece was so thin and shiny that at first I thought it was plastic. I’m still not sure it isn’t. There is now a cheap seal that fits around the “metal” tray (this wasn’t on my old model) and that pops out for no reason, and makes fitting it onto the base of the cooker harder than it has to be. Why the redesign? It was perfect the way it was before. The lid is also now very hard to shut and when you do get it open the egg tray comes out with it and the seal separates from the tray. The first batch of eggs I cooked had varying levels of doneness (three came out hard boiled and one was moderately soft) but I don’t know if that has anything to do with the redesign. Regardless, the move to cheaper materials is disappointing and I would rather buy one in the future that is better quality. ... show more

  • Better than the Nordic Ware 64802 Microwave Egg Boiler
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
While safer than my Nordic Ware 64802 Microwave Egg Boiler because it has handles for the top and the bottom so there is far less chance of burning yourself. The Nordic Ware has no handles and requires that you hold the bottom while lifting it out of the microwave and it is too hot not to use a dish towel or glove. Even then it leaks water out the seam if you are not very steady and absorbs into the towel or glove and burns your hand. I prefer the Boiley because I don't have to worry about burning my hands and in reaction, possibly dumping all the hot water on myself. The Boiley still has problems though. 1. Jumbo eggs barely fit. 2. Often the eggs crack. I suppose that is why they include a device to puncture the eggs. But why didn't my Nordic Ware ever crack eggs? 3. Poor fit of the parts. They seem to be slightly out of round so you need to squeeze the sides into shape when assembling them. ... show more
