When I first got this unit I though it was great. Unfortunately that feeling was short lived. The unit worked fine for 2 years. I only used it for the summer months in my man cave when it was hot outside. Then it suddenly stopped working! I had to get an HVAC Tech to come and check it out. The compressor was shot. When I contacted the company they told me that my warranty had expired and they couldn't help me. The warranty is only 2 years!!! That fact that they only offer a 2 year warranty shows that they know the product is complete crap! I have used small window units that cost much less that have lasted much longer! DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY ON THIS OVERPRICED CRAP!

This item is NOT the Do-It-Yourself Model. Even though the guts are identical to the DIY, it takes more thought and effort to install. You need some special tools, like a vacuum pump, a good flare tool, tubing benders, and some beforehand practice with the flare tool to do it. If you take motors apart, build machinery from scratch, or are a plain dedicated do-yourselfer, you can do it. If you're not willing to invest the time studying up on it and practicing with the flare tool, you'd better forget it. Go with one of the DIY models. Mine works great. I have an 18,000 BTU model installed in a 700-square foot (insulated) garage.The temperature drop across it is about 38 degrees (if room air is 80F, output air will be about 42F). It has no problem at all cooling the place down quickly. It appears to be very smart, only putting out the temperature needed to maintain the setting. It may start out at 42, but after 20 minutes it might be doing 58. The fan is nearly silent.

Wasn’t a terrible install. This unit is not DYI and the line set is not pre charged. You will need an HVAC technician to evacuate the line set. I ran the line set traditionally like a central setup (through the wall into the attic and back into the wall and then out to exterior to condenser for a cleaner look. Electrical was pretty straight forward. This kit did not come with a template either. However, function is flawless and once I’m done with Sheetrock/paint, it will be aesthetically pleasing and will keep us cool all summer :). Also to note, the line set and communication cable are only 16’. Make sure you fill out and email your warranty paper that is included in the package.

The only difference is this version has uncharged open ended lines. The compressor unit has all the refrigerant you need. The indoor unit evaporator is pressurized with nitrogen an inert gas to keep the unit sealed and assure they hold pressure. You simply need to buy a gage and vacuum set (sold on Amazon for @ $125). Also a connector for the mini split size connection. It is very easy to do and lots of Youtubers to watch. I bought this for an apartment room off my house that's 25ft x 15ft. Its the main heat and AC in this room which my oldest son lives. I installed it last summer so we had it thru this whole winter. No problems heating even on 15 degree nights. Didnt even have to crank it up on colder nights to accommodate the colder temps. The coldest night we had here this winter was 9 degrees and windy. It was putting out 120 degree air than night. I have 2 other 18k Mrcool units for the rest of the house which is why i went with this one. Now the 9k dont have that crazy blower fan speed that the big ones have but its comparable air flow of a big window unit. Very efficient due to the variable compressor. One thing I like about mini splits are you can run them off smaller generators in a power outage where a typical heat unit is on a 60 amp breaker and you cant. If your concerned about heating or cooling power just buy a unit one size up. Bigger unit dont work as hard so it pulls less power while maintaining temp.

Really love this unit. It heats and cools our small space here in Florida and keeps the electric bill down too. The app controls it when away or at home although quirky. The remote control is great. It was fairly easy to install and doesn't take up much space. Lots of YouTube videos show you how to do it. You have an inside, small hang on the wall unit, and a small outside unit. Very quiet. We don't even know if it's running or not until we walk up to it and feel if air is blowing or not. Really can't hear it run. No problems with it and I would buy it again.
