    • Very Nice Lights! BUT Dusk to Dawn Setting Turns Off Before Dawn!

I already had 3 of the Mr Beams battery-operated motion sensing spotlights; but I purchased these because I needed some light that would stay on in a very dark area on the south end of the house. SO I was glad to see that one of the modes on these was the Dusk to Dawn Setting which was supposed to stay on at 115 lumens. They are off about 1 l/2 hrs. before dawn - about 3:30am. They were properly charged for 3 days before installing. I took both of them down and changed the setting on the one at the very end of the wall to the Glow Mode which is 10 lumens all night activating to 835 lumens when motion is detected. 10 lumens of light is not very much light; but I did venture out in the dark to see how bright the 835 lumens was. Very bright!!!!! Of course using only 10 lumens, this still works after dawn - til about 5:30 am. Then I reinstalled the one set to Dusk to Dawn Mode in closer to back door. At 115 lumens, it's like turning a 40 watt porch light on!!!!!! I decided to keep the lights because I like them even though they can't stay on until dawn. I wish Mr Beams would make a model with Dusk to Dawn at less lumens than 115 - maybe 50 would stay on all night!!!!!! ... show more

We bought 2 of these to place on a metal barn building in the back of our property where there is no electricity. These were place over 2 outdoor windows. They receive all afternoon sunlight. At night , when walking the dog, these automatically turn on and shine a huge area. This area would normally have left us in total darkness and with the hoot owls screaming made it quite scary, now we don't even hear them. Works perfectly after 2 weeks. I installed above a side door coming up from our basement with the motion only option for outside light without running power. This worked exactly as it should and provides plenty of light. The included hardware is worthless. I found that small head white trim nails work perfectly and allow the unit to be removed easily from the mounting bracket for setting changes. ... show more

Still haven't gone through the dark days of February, but several days in a row cloudy. Some traffic on my street, but still lights up bright. The only down side is the little push pin and the holes to push it in to do to set the light settings. You have to secured the pin to the back to store it,then screw the fixture up. If you have to change the settings you have to take fixture down to get the pin, not to mention the setting holes. Bottom line is, decide what setting you want the light to do. Set up a test area where you can see how it perform for 3 days. I put it on an outdoor table where many people walked by. Watch the sun to make it will get enough, or look at hard wire or battery lights. Put the first up August 6th, and no problems. ... show more

'just the light we need for those night time trips to the bathroom; eliminates need to turn on the light. Also works well just placing on a step against wall in a dark stairwell.
