In a world where so many kids have full unfiltered access to the entire world of human evil on the internet, where can you get your kid a simple mp3 player? They don't make them anymore! Enter the Luoran mp3 players. They ship with Libby and Audible for audio books. They include Spotify and Amazon Music. There's parental controls built right in. NOTE ON THE PARENTAL CONTROLS: Set this up as soon as you get the device. I once had a kiddo set and "forget" the parental controls password before I got to it on a device like this and we had to do a full factory reset after some sneaky behavior. While this is an android device, it's a really really limited one. It comes with an app that is supposed to be able to transfer apps and files wirelessly. I've used these before. This one didn't work. But it was really easy to copy over apks (app installation files) and mp3 music via USB from my computer. But only one (which is additional parental control for setting time limits and such) of the apps I tried to sideload would install. There's no Google Play store. For the most part, you get what's pre-installed and other apps won't load. Other devices from the same seller are the same size and have a better implementation of the operating system so you can actually get to the play store and attempt to install more apps. Not everything works, but a lot more does on those other products. If you're looking for an mp3 player that's not a phone, this is the kind to get. Do a quick comparison and read some reviews to find the right model for your needs. This one is good to have just locally stored music, or for using the specific apps pre-installed.

This is a great little MP3 player for our kids to use on longer road trips. We tend to shy away from using screens but it was easy to adjust the available apps to only let our kids use Libby to listen to checked-out audiobooks. The battery life is long enough to easily make it through multiple hours of listening in the car, and the controls are easy for our kids to figure out. It was also really easy for me to connect it up to our home WiFi to load it up with books before hitting the road. I'm definitely happy we got this!

I got this for my 11 year old son who is really into music but we didn't want him to have a phone yet. This is the perfect solution. You can make it so that they don't have access to Google or internet browsers, and only have access to music apps like Spotify. Works great! Very giftable.

Bought this specifically to use for our kid to listen to Spotify. Spent hours trying to get into Spotify. Kept receiving errors about listening abroad (were in the US) and incorrect password despite changing our passwords multiple times. So frustrating.

I like that it has parental controls but unless your really knowledgeable about how the apps work it's not really worth it honestly. If you know how to use all the apps and are fairly knowledgeable then you'll probably like it. As of now im not knowledgeable and have spent hours trying to figure how to use the installed apps. I'll probably get my son a Spotify account and use that app. But everything else is essentially useless on it for us.

Just bought this for my daughter. I liked the reviews I bought it because I could use the parental controls and lock her from using the internet. I just wanted something she could play music on. This mp3 player lags very bad. The wifi doesnt work well. It didnt find the hot spot or the wifi when I tried. The Bluetooth pairing also isnt good she couldnt connect her beats to the mp3 player. Overall im unhappy with the product.

My seven-year-old likes this a lot and has been using it mostly for games rather than music. The screen is a good size, and it’s been easy enough for him to navigate on his own. I like that it has parental controls and different app options available. It’s been a fun little device for him to use during downtime.
