    • Needed modification for Sony a6100
Really great cage, solid metal construction but still lightweight, and great options for attachments. My only complaint is that the screw for attaching the camera is too long for a Sony a6100. The camera doesn't attach flush to the pad on the cage, so it would spin left and right easily and couldn't be tightened further. My solution was to carefully pry the fitted washer off the screw so I could take it out, and add an extra washer on the bottom to shorten the screw. Worked like a charm afterward. ... show more

    • It doesn’t actually get tight enough to be useful.
Nice materials, seems well made - but the unit I received, the tripod mount does not tighten enough thus the camera will rotate left or right within this cage if tilted in either direction. Won’t be keeping it, this makes it somewhat useless.

The listing says that this frame is suitable for a DSLR camera. That was not my experience. There is no width to this item. So, at the base, where the camera attaches, the camera body can not be properly secured. Meaning, the camera is constantly rotating left or right with even the slightest nudge. One must keep their thumb on the camera to hold it in place. Fail. Plus, this camera frame is way overpriced for what it is. If you're looking for something to secure a decent-sized camera, you'd be better served to try something different. ... show more
