My seven year old might be a little too young for this, despite the description. Setting up bluetooth took a little while on the kid's Fire tablet, but that was mostly Fire's issues. The speaker on this thing is LOUD, like amazingly loud, like you might regret this purchase loud. But, once you pair it up, go on Youtube and do a search on sing along music for whatever age. Much of the music in that category is for older kids, tweens and teens, who might make a better audience for this thing. I got a similar one that is blue for my 5 year old son, a little cheaper but it uses built-in little kid music, no bluetooth. Well made, HEAVY, has it's own lithium-ion battery, plugs in with any micro USB cord. Adds echo and various distortions to the voice on command.
