I use my phone for GPS and music (Bluetooth) while I ride my motorcycle. Charging while on the go is essential so I need to have a charger on board. I had a smaller charger with a single port but I really wanted something that would fast-charge my phone. I saw that this charger also had a digital voltage readout and bought it. First of all, this works very well as a charger (so far). It seems to have no problem fast-charging my phone, which is nice because my daily commute is only about a half hour or so. Installation was easy. I used double-sided high-bond tape to stick it to the triple-tree of my bike, then ran the fused SAE cable to it. In my case this took a bit of time. This charger is significantly longer than my old one, and I had to find a position that would keep it from hitting something when I turned the handlebars, kept the digital display in view, and kept the power switch accessible. I located it just to the left of the upper stem bearing. I had to lengthen the wiring harness slightly to reach from my motorcycle's battery, but I had spare SAE connectors with pigtails so that was straightforward. I soldered and heat-shrunk all of the connections, then zip-tied the harness along the frame of the bike. Everything is secure and tucked out of the way. It's nice to be able to monitor the battery or alternator voltage continuously. Motorcycle charging systems (especially the regulator/rectifiers) are sometimes fickle on old bikes so it's nice to have a reading that tells me if the alternator is working. I have to remember to shut the charger off when I park so that the digital readout doesn't drain my battery, but since it's installed next to the key, so far it hasn't been a problem. The dual USB ports are nice. I can charge a battery bank, my portable air compressor, etc. while I'm riding. This is definitely not the most compact charger available. It's about twice as long as the previous charger that I had. The size is not a problem on many of the larger cruisers but it definitely made packaging a challenge on my sport touring bike. I managed to find a spot where it would fit and be visible but it took a little doing. Nevertheless, the effort was worth it and I'm happy with this charger. I bought the one with the two turbo 3.0 ports. Works very well so far, and this model features a built-in voltmeter, allowing you to monitor your battery. I have had similar devices, and you have to be careful if you have this on your motorcycle and go to a high-pressure car wash. It has a cap to protect the ports, but the power switch on the side is not able to handle high-pressure spray. For its price, it's a great choice, just take care at the car wash. ... show more

The price was really attractive so I took a chance. Seems to work OK. I used a USB port tester to verify the output voltage/current from the device and I was able to charge my phone using my motorcycle battery. The USB tester seemed to show the variable voltages expected for quick charging and my phone also indicated that it was quick charging using this device. The no-load voltage from the two USB ports were slightly different (5.00V vs 5.18V) but I didn't really think that it was a problem. The built-in voltmeter and ammeter seem to be reasonably accurate as compared to a laboratory power supply. I leave the device under my motorcycle seat switched off and I like using the charger to quickly check battery voltage on my without having to get a multimeter (my motorcycle dashboard doesn't indicate battery voltage). The voltage conversion from 12V battery voltage to USB power seems to be through a step-down converter which is good (more efficient). You can see that the battery draw is outputting 12.7V @ 0.43A to the charger while the USB output is about 5.04V @ 1.14A. ... show more

inexpensive but seems well made. Long wire to battery, but do a rough measurement along your desired path because it takes more to work around substructures and hot areas. Used it on a trip and once since, worked well, charged well. Nice to be able to turn it on and check voltage of my battery before start up or while on the road too. Charges rapidly, super charger. Update: I posted my initial review after the product stopped working. The product company, Mroinge, read my review and provided a replacement without me contacting them and asking for a replacement. That tells me that they make a quality product and that my experience was not typical. They certainly are very customer focused and that speaks volumes about their expectations of their product. I have updated the review from 3 to 5 as a result of their stellar care and proactive engagement. Wow! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I liked the product initially, for a few reasons. Easy to read display, on/off slider switch, compact size, SAE, etc. Used it in an outdoor setting. Connected to 12V battery and powering a WiFi security camera via USB.
