Our home gym is on a concrete slab. Based on advice from our carpet installer, it is carpeted using a commercial style carpet with no padding underneath. We use mats on top of the carpet where needed, such as under our pro-grade elliptical runner, spin bike and treadmill. All are very heavy. The units do not move at all, the carpet does not even slightly shift, and is well protected. While not the mats to use for floor exercises, these thin – yet durable – mats do a great job underneath the equipment protecting the carpet, look professional, stay flat and clean easily. It was a "cheap" mat for my weight bench. Less than half the cost of the one under my bike. I needed this specific size, which is harder to come by apparently. The mat arrived and it was dense/heavy (let's be honest the soft ones do not last). It has a good rough anti-slip texture that works for shoes or bare feet. Neatly rounded corners to avoid curling.
