I wish I had read the reviews first. The thread is too small and too short to use as a replacement sensor as is. It is also too short to extend into the junction box of the standard motion detector light I have. Fortunately the previous sensor Is plastic and I cut off the 1/2" threaded end and it slipped snugly to what I suppose is some short and small Chinese thread used for their electrical. A dab of glue and I was good to go. The Price was better than the alternatives since this is the part that always craps out, price is important. American sensor replacements cost almost as much as the light, so I have a collection of lights with bad sensors, this is not so bad, just should be adapted for the American market! ... show more

Pass on this. The threads are 3/8" NPT and won't fit the standard 1/2" NPT knockouts on an outdoor Bell box.
