This summer we had a lot of flies getting into our house and I intentionally bought this for bigger flies. This bug catcher was really only good for catching smaller gnats and mosquitoes. The bigger flies would not get stuck to it. Other than that, not having to worry about mosquitoes has been such a blessing and we are continuing to use it. Still a worth while purchase!

So this didn't catch bigger moths very well, so I turned it on and put some water and soap in a bowl under it and caught a lot of moths that way. It does catch a lot of little flitty moths tho, and I seem to have a lot of those. Must have a plant that is too wet.

When I purchased these, I was truly skeptical but decided to give them a shot. During the summer, my problem areas are the kitchen and the bathroom. However, I bought 4 traps (one for each room where I’ve swatted away gnats). On day 1, the one in my living room was 1/4 full. I had no idea so many gnats were present! Others have been 50/50 (limited on outlets so the areas in which they’re plugged aren’t ideal) but they are still catching bugs. I even see bigger bugs gravitate towards the light before eventually getting stuck themselves. In my opinion, they definitely work best against a white/neutral wall where there are no obstructions. The more space available around the light, the more bugs you’ll catch. Definitely give them a shot!
