I just hang out away from the house and catch flies and I have caught a lot of hornets and yellow jackets in these in the past years, it a little early this year to be in full swing because of the cooler weather in the last few weeks but they are already attracting flies. I thought once they got in they couldn’t leave but that’s not really the case I guess once they try to get whatever the bait is in the water that kills them but I’ve been just basically drowning them once I see a bunch in there. Overall amazing stuff. Smell is terrible though. 😂

Hung this up my shop and did everything the instruction said left it hanging for two weeks and only had ONE fly in there. Waste of money not a good brand.

We have used traps like these for several years now and they are fantastic. The barn on the property behind us has more animals than the prior years due to our new neighbors and the flies started being an issue. One year we could barely open our back door without having 5 or 6 flies come in no matter how fast we tried to get in and out and it was freaking me out. We started using these type of traps and they took care of the problem within days. It was insane to see just how many flies ended up in them. I'm sure this brand will work as well as the other and I like that they include an attached string to make hanging even easier. We placed ours approximately 40ft from our common area as you DO NOT want them too close to where you normally are outside. They get EXTREMELY smelly as the trap gets more full (this is what attracts the flies, the smell) and there will be swarming flies trying to enter the bag. When the wind blows you may get a whiff as well lol. We didn't want to place ours too far back on the property for fear it would draw more flies form the barn but we also didn't want it too close to the areas we frequent. The pictures they have on their product description page is the amount of flies you will end up with. We change our bag every 3-4 weeks depending on how full it gets. Be warned, it's nasty having to take it down. My husband wears rubber gloves, closes the lid, duct tapes it and we double bag it. We do not take it down until trash removal night either, that's so we don't attract flies to the trash can area and so the trash man doesn't have to deal with it being even worse. I know it sounds bad but it took care of the problem, no more flies in the house, none bothering us while grilling and really not bothering us when we are working in the yard. They do make a trap like this that can be dumped and reused but there is no way we could handle emptying that, NO WAY. I'm pretty frugal but even I draw the line somewhere. ... show more

When the flies starting to come around, products like this one help reduce their numbers. I hung it up in the perfect area near my garden, and it is filling up with flies. I don't smell anything, but the flies obviously do. It was easy to deploy, just cut around the circle on the bag and pull the plastic part up and out so you can fill it with water. The sent bag was trapped by the plastic, so make sure it falls to the bottom before you add water. ... show more
