I got this to treat some small field crops for insects. It was way too large an area to use a pump-up sprayer and too small (and too covered with crops) to have a commercial applicator spray it. I had looked at the Stihl products which do the same thing but the one which was most similar to this was $719 (apparently "on sale", regularly $749). Ouch, that's a lot of money to see if a solution will work. I found this one and gambled that, at $400 less, it would function well enough to get the job done. It very much does. I also expected that, being on Amazon, and being this inexpensive, it would be made in China. However, I have not found a "Made in xxxxx" marking on the unit, but the branding of the unit indicates the brand, Invatech, and "Italia". Italia is Italy. While that's not as conclusive as a clear marking of "Made in Italy", I believe, based on the markings and the quality of the build, that it was made in Italy. It was easy to assemble and came with some spare parts I didn't expect (like a spare pull-start unit). The unit fired up immediately the first time and I had no problems with the carburetor functioning as-is out of the box. Some reviews mention having to adjust the carburetor, and there's a tool in the box to do so. FWIW, I'm at about 1,000 feet elevation, and elevation can have an impact on carbureted engines. The only negative I can say about this aspect of the unit is that the carburetor adjustment tool comes wrapped separately and has a label indicating that opening the bag with the tool "will void the warranty". What the...you include a tool to adjust the unit then tell the user that if they use the tool they void their warranty? What a bunch of garbage...you could open the bag, use the tool, throw the tool and the bag in the trash, who's gonna know? The Draconian warning about the warranty when it's so obviously un-provable whether you opened the bag or not is offputting. Anyway, the unit has worked well. The shoulder straps were very padded and easy to adjust. The unit is easy to operate and has functioned well. The instructions indicate that filling the tank with no more than 2 gallons of fluid is recommended. They're not kidding. Each gallon of water weighs, approximately, 8 pounds and the unit can hold 4 gallons...that's roughly 32 pounds of water on top of the unit weight which I recall to be about 25 pounds. I'm 6' 1" and not exactly scrawny and 2 gallons in the unit was quite enough, thank you. They advise using an elevated platform to mount and dismount the unit from your back and that is highly recommended. I set it on the tailgate of my truck, but a sturdy table would work just fine. Just don't try to mount it on your back directly from the ground; that would be a bit much. Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit, especially at the price. The process of spraying the crops in this manner has worked for us. We weren't sure, so spending a lot less money on this versus the Stihl was a logical choice. That choice has worked out well.

This unit is not for the weak and feeble. A hefty weight even when empty will test your endurance carrying it around the lot. This unit requires some assembly and any person with a little bit of technical know how and tool experience will be able to put this together without any major hiccups. The unit started fine once filled wih 50/1 and primed properly. A little loud so good hearing protection is a must. It is a fogged, so eye protection is also a must. I opted for a 3M respirator and noise cancelling hearing protection. The liquid container can hold 14 liters (quarts) of fluid. Don’t do it. It gets too heavy and with a full load of gas, you are humping 40 lbs. doesn’t sound like much but you better be in shape to get that on your back and walk around with it for a couple of hours. Fogged works great, high volume high speed air at full throttle moves the spray upwards of 25 feet in the air and into the bush. You can spray both liquid or dry stuff with some minor modifications. All parts needed for both come with the unit. Even spare parts are included. It is a backpack blower/fogger, that can blow leaves, liquid and dry material that is used commercially. It is loud, big and heavy. But it works amazingly well. Good price, fast delivery with all parts, spare parts, instructions and without damage. Very pleased. Good buy.

My unit ordered from Amazon arrived the 3rd day after I ordered so I was pleased and I am not a Prime customer. It was shipped from Canada and cleared customs quickly and got here earlier than expected. It was well packaged and arrived with no damage. It requires some assembly. Immediately upon opening I noticed that all parts were clearly labeled - the best packaging and assembly instructions I have run across on any product and I've assembled a lot of products. The manual is all clear English with plenty of photos so assembly was easy - it took me about 25 minutes carefully following directions and double checking. I didn't run into any of the issues that a few other users have complained about, I found the machine well designed. I checked all fittings were tight and all controls were preset to the initial starting conditions (tank valve off to build up pressure, start switch On, Choke On, etc). I did have to check the manual to find the location of the primer button. I had one minor issue with starting the unit the first time out of the box. An email to their support department was followed up in a few minutes with a phone call from a friendly English-speaking Canadian support tech and I learned that after priming and a couple of pulls with the choke On, I should then turn the choke Off and within 2 pulls the unit fired right up. Subsequent starting has been easy. The unit is a bit bulky and not light (but lighter than some competitive models) so as others have advised, you probably only want to use 2-2.5 gallons of chemicals at a time to keep the total weight down. I only intend to use the unit as a fogger although it has the capabilty for dusting also. I compared features and reviews of a number of units before selecting this fogger. I've used the unit 3 times and been pleased with its performance. I like that the tank is pressurized providing some additional range when fogging up in the air as other units are typically only gravity fed. It has a pretty long range with strong blower. The feed volume is adjustable with 4 choices but I only use the lowest feed setting for mosquitoes. I like that the unit has a 3 year warranty. Overall I am pleased with the unit and very pleased with how well it has been working keeping down the mosquito population.

I was on the fence about purchasing this last year. I have since moved and it became necessary for me to consider doing my own pest control as we now live close to 3 ponds. The bugs were outrageous. We could not go out on our deck and enjoy outside time without the mosquitoes taking over. I purchased this unit and waited for a solid dry day. Purchased some bifen from a local supply company for $30 and put 1 ounce per gallon in this blower. This blower does come unassembled, but if you know and understand some pretty simple directions, you can be done in about a 30 minutes. I purchased some trufuel for this machine and once primed, it started easily. Any restarts were one pull once warmed up. The flow adjustment at the end of the misting tube can be adjusted easily. One piece of advice I would give is to adjust that first and understand your flow rate. I blew through 3 gallons of pesticide in about 5-10 minutes, which was way to heavy. 2nd go at it, I adjusted to minimum flow and had much more control/better misting and not spraying! This machine is amazing! I went home for lunch the next day, and no mosquitoes. I know I will need to reapply at some point, but this really works! Try it, you will not be dissappointed! 1 YEAR REVIEW! Hard to believe I have had this a year already. It's still easy to start. It still works like it's supposed to. We still do not have bugs! It's truly amazing! We just apply approximately every 30 days during Summer and Autumn and no bugs. This is AMAZING! If you have mosquitoes, this and some Bifen will solve your problems!

7/5/26 1st use Filled the tank 4x’s. No issues with carrying the weight. Engine shut down twice but just needed to warm up. After that it worked well. Fogged 2 acres plus. Lots of giant cedars, garden beds, and woods. It’s been hot, rainy, and muggy. Perfect for lots of mosquitos. Last year there were swarms of mosquitoes. So far, amazed that there are none after fogging. Hope it lasts a while. Will update.

Received this item over a week ago. It ran on and off for about an hour as I had to continually restart the engine because it would bog down. Now it will not start at all. I called the number it says to call if it won't start/stay running and have not heard back. I also went on the website and sent them a note advising of the problem, no reply. If it is just an adjustment, why don't they put instructions for adjustment in the manual, or online? Obviously, it is a common problem looking at reviews on the Invatech web site and given they even ask you to call the number which would be OK I guess, if they got back to you. Update- I did hear back from Invatech though I have not had a chance to make the adjustment yet. Spent hours adjusting per the instructions. Still does not work. It is just junk, I would not recommend this product. Amazon will not accept return either. Paid $328 and got nothing out of it.
