    • Far better than I expected.
I got this to treat some small field crops for insects. It was way too large an area to use a pump-up sprayer and too small (and too covered with crops) to have a commercial applicator spray it. I had looked at the Stihl products which do the same thing but the one which was most similar to this was $719 (apparently "on sale", regularly $749). Ouch, that's a lot of money to see if a solution will work. I found this one and gambled that, at $400 less, it would function well enough to get the job done. It very much does. I also expected that, being on Amazon, and being this inexpensive, it would be made in China. However, I have not found a "Made in xxxxx" marking on the unit, but the branding of the unit indicates the brand, Invatech, and "Italia". Italia is Italy. While that's not as conclusive as a clear marking of "Made in Italy", I believe, based on the markings and the quality of the build, that it was made in Italy. It was easy to assemble and came with some spare parts I didn't expect (like a spare pull-start unit). The unit fired up immediately the first time and I had no problems with the carburetor functioning as-is out of the box. Some reviews mention having to adjust the carburetor, and there's a tool in the box to do so. FWIW, I'm at about 1,000 feet elevation, and elevation can have an impact on carbureted engines. The only negative I can say about this aspect of the unit is that the carburetor adjustment tool comes wrapped separately and has a label indicating that opening the bag with the tool "will void the warranty". What the...you include a tool to adjust the unit then tell the user that if they use the tool they void their warranty? What a bunch of garbage...you could open the bag, use the tool, throw the tool and the bag in the trash, who's gonna know? The Draconian warning about the warranty when it's so obviously un-provable whether you opened the bag or not is offputting. Anyway, the unit has worked well. The shoulder straps were very padded and easy to adjust. The unit is easy to operate and has functioned well. The instructions indicate that filling the tank with no more than 2 gallons of fluid is recommended. They're not kidding. Each gallon of water weighs, approximately, 8 pounds and the unit can hold 4 gallons...that's roughly 32 pounds of water on top of the unit weight which I recall to be about 25 pounds. I'm 6' 1" and not exactly scrawny and 2 gallons in the unit was quite enough, thank you. They advise using an elevated platform to mount and dismount the unit from your back and that is highly recommended. I set it on the tailgate of my truck, but a sturdy table would work just fine. Just don't try to mount it on your back directly from the ground; that would be a bit much. Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit, especially at the price. The process of spraying the crops in this manner has worked for us. We weren't sure, so spending a lot less money on this versus the Stihl was a logical choice. Great reach up into the trees, the back pack allows you to support all of the weight easily, very ajustable for all the things you will like to use it for.     • Very pleased - was a bit skeptical but it works very well
I did a lot of research as we moved into a wet and wooded area north of Houston and were immediately inundated with mosquitoes and I knew a ULV sprayer like this was our only chance !! The unit was easy to build in about 30 mins with parts all clearly marked and the instructions were clear enough. It starts easily and works flawlessly. Easily blows the mist 20 into the bushes and foliage where the mosquitoes hide. Not too heavy to wear and not too noisy, although hearing muffs might help. You definitely need a half face respirator to prevent breathing in the mist. Yes, as others have said… the build quality is certainly not professional/ industrial level - but be honest folks, what do you expect for this price? It is really good value for money for home use. I have regularly used pyrethrum based spray (which isn’t cheap) and we have really noticed a very significant reduction in the mosquitoes in our yard and pool area - so I’m very pleased with the purchase. If mosquitoes are driving you mad and driving you inside - then I’d recommend this sprayer for you. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is the harness is very cheap & flimsy and in fact one strap slipped through the buckle and came undone when I was moving the sprayer - but this can be fixed with a rivet or screw through the harness or just some gaffer tape !! Anyway, I don’t normally write reviews but other people’s reviews inspired me to buy this sprayer, so thought I’d do the same. Hope it works as out good for you as it did for me. ... show more

    • Works well for eliminating mosquitoes, very pleased with performance
My unit ordered from Amazon arrived the 3rd day after I ordered so I was pleased and I am not a Prime customer. It was shipped from Canada and cleared customs quickly and got here earlier than expected. It was well packaged and arrived with no damage. It requires some assembly. Immediately upon opening I noticed that all parts were clearly labeled - the best packaging and assembly instructions I have run across on any product and I've assembled a lot of products. The manual is all clear English with plenty of photos so assembly was easy - it took me about 25 minutes carefully following directions and double checking. I didn't run into any of the issues that a few other users have complained about, I found the machine well designed. I checked all fittings were tight and all controls were preset to the initial starting conditions (tank valve off to build up pressure, start switch On, Choke On, etc). I did have to check the manual to find the location of the primer button. I had one minor issue with starting the unit the first time out of the box. An email to their support department was followed up in a few minutes with a phone call from a friendly English-speaking Canadian support tech and I learned that after priming and a couple of pulls with the choke On, I should then turn the choke Off and within 2 pulls the unit fired right up. Subsequent starting has been easy. The unit is a bit bulky and not light (but lighter than some competitive models) so as others have advised, you probably only want to use 2-2.5 gallons of chemicals at a time to keep the total weight down. I only intend to use the unit as a fogger although it has the capabilty for dusting also. I compared features and reviews of a number of units before selecting this fogger. I've used the unit 3 times and been pleased with its performance. I like that the tank is pressurized providing some additional range when fogging up in the air as other units are typically only gravity fed. It has a pretty long range with strong blower. The feed volume is adjustable with 4 choices but I only use the lowest feed setting for mosquitoes. I like that the unit has a 3 year warranty. Overall I am pleased with the unit and very pleased with how well it has been working keeping down the mosquito population. ... show more
