The spring-loaded flip-up mechanism pops open effortlessly when needed and clicks shut when closed. Made of durable rubber and polymer materials, they wont damage the finish of your rifle scope while shielding the lenses from the harsh elements. Measure the outside diameter of your scope's objective bell and/or eyepiece IMPORTANT: Sizing is not based on the objective lens size of your scope - a 3-9x40mm scope will not fit with a 40mm sized lens cover. For the correct fitting lens cover, you must physically measure the outside diameter of your scope eyepiece and objective. Our sizes fit nearly every scope on the market. With a flick they open all the way and close again with a satisfying click, keeping your optics clean and free of scratches and blemishes. (scope is not included) The rubber sleeve holds tight to your scope body and prevents against cover rotation. This part allows us to cover a wide range of diameters without needing to be exact. Hidden inside the axis is a spring loaded and ready for action. All it takes is a flick and it automatically opens and holds the cap in the back position and out of sight. Bought this to replace a broken lens cover hinge, and it fits like a glove; in fact it is better than the one replaced. Rubber sleeve adheres like a suction cup, and the plastic cap fits tightly over the cover to protect from moisture and dust. So good, I may order one for the eye piece.

Bought a set of these for my Leupold Freedom RDS (size 37-42). Nice snug waterproof fit. Clean snap of the rigid plastic cap when opening and closing. For the most part I liked it. It seemed like solid protection for my red dot at a good price. Unfortunately, both lens covers looked identical and I couldn't tell the difference (if there was one) between the eyepiece cover and the objective lens cover. When I put them on it made my big red dot look even more massive so, I gave one away to a buddy and kept this one on my objective lens (the objective lens on the Leupold RDS is 40mm). It lasted about a year before it split at the seams. The gun has only been used at the range and then stayed in my safe so, the lens cover hasn't been put through any challenging paces. Maybe I put the wrong cover on the wrong lens, who knows. It would be helpful if Monstrum would label the covers so one can know which cover goes to which lens. Still, I got a year of use out of it and for the price I guess I got my money's worth. I contacted Monstrum and they told me that they would replace it if I send it back to them. I have used another brands flip-up scope caps for a while now. I decided to try these new Monstrum Rubberized Flip-Up Rifle Scope Lens Covers and I am pleasantly surprised. For half the price, they are just as good. They seem nicely built. Only time is going to tell how these are going to hold up and I'll update you in a few months with what I think of them at that point. For now, I wish that both the eye cap and the lens cap had the same logo. Turns out, from reading other reviews that this is the case that both are different for some people. Not a big deal but just something I didn't expect. The eye cap doesn't have the two position stopping points like the Vortex eye cap but still works good. The Monstrum eye cap just flips all the way open. The rubber on each cap seems to be nice and is around the same thickness and size as the Vortex caps. Both of the flip-up scope caps go on tightly but not bad and are about the same as the Vortex. The caps seem to open nicely and they "click" closed nicely. They feel like they won't open up unless you want them open. The hinges and springs are nice and feel pretty heavy duty. I think they can take some bumps and still hold up. All in all, they are very nice for half the price of others flip-up scope caps. If I need more of these, I'll buy these Monstrum first if the ones I just bought and put on my scope hold up like I think they will. One last piece of advice, try not to stretch the rubber to much when you put them on the scope. I was able to get them started and then I just slightly twisted and pushed them on at the same time that I moved them in to position. Good luck and enjoy. ... show more

I like these. It gives you a little flexibility in objective sizes. Fits securely and latches well. I generally use Butler Creek caps but tried this one and really like it. Would recommend.

Mine lasted about three years until the rubber degraded to the point where it split on both caps. If you can deal with the knowledge that these have an expiration date, they do work well otherwise. Returning them to the manufacturer would most likely cost the same as just buying new ones.
