This might be the best thing I purchased in the entire month of September 2024. Five stars simply are not enough. We suspected we had mold elsewhere in our apartment after finding it in our bathroom and this test confirmed it. It was extremely easy to set up and use - the instructions are so easy to follow, even someone who definitely did not win any best in class biology awards in high school (like myself) can feel confident that they did the test correctly. I believe the speed in which mold grows if the test was exposed to mold via the air or your swab from a surface depends on the type/how much mold is in the testing environment. After 24 hours, a few bubbles had formed but nothing major. I went to bed that night and overnight the colors showed up. The noise that came out of me was inhumane and probably scared my neighbors for life (sorry team), but in that moment I felt so validated and finally had peace of mind. I’d been sick all summer with classic mold toxicity symptoms and after finding the spot in our bathroom a few weeks prior, I knew what was wrong with me. I would’ve paid 5x the amount I spent on these tests - these are priced well so that paranoid folks like myself can buy several to test different rooms. The price also makes mold testing accessible to those who might not be able to otherwise afford to test for mold. If you want to know if you have mold or not, this works If you want to know if it's poisonous mold, or how you mitigate the damage, this sucks If you want to know how to stop it, well, you are going to have to let it get worse. Instructions say you need to do one for the moldy area and one for outside air for comparison. And it tells you to buy another kit for an accurate read. I have to BUY it again to even know if I have mold? If you want to know what kind of mold you have, you have to pay more money and then wait two weeks. . There are others where you have mold, density, type of mold and mitigation in 24-48 hours.. If you have a month and more money, go ahead. I had a leak under my air conditioner that gave me a headache. Do I wipe it down or have to rip out the drywall? This wont tell you ... show more

I got thos kit for my daughter. The problem is there is only 1 kit and the instructions say that we needed 2 kits (one for outside, and one for inside) . If this is the case then there should be 2 tests instead of only one. I returned it for a full refund.

It seems to work well. Tried it in middle of living area and in bedroom. No mold detected. So to experiment, even after the time was up, I contaminated it with just touching the surface without washing hands and all kinds of stuff grew in a couple days, so I think it would have shown if there was any mold in the air. ... show more
