This is my first Serger. After doing a fair bit of research I purchased this one. It is a basic, easy to use right out of the box serger/overlock. You could easily spend $1,000.00 more for all the bells and whistles, but really just wanted a machine that would be used for personal garment construction. I made 4 sundresses for my granddaughters in the first two days! Do not be discouraged by the threading...not that hard in my opinion. Youtube videos really came in handy. This thing is awesome! I barely had to tinker with it out of the box. It is my first serger and I was so intimidated but got over that hump really fast. It does a beautiful job. I would highly recommend it!

When I unpacked the machine, i found the packet of selica gels had broken and I had little beads inside the machine and the box. I also found a loose screw in the bottom of the box. After removing all the gel beads and figuring out where the screw went evrything went well for a while. However, today I am having trouble with the foot feed not working. I plugged in a foot feed from another machine and it seems to work fine. ... show more

    • My first serger
My mom gave her serger away to an 8 year old to spite me 20 something years ago. Somehow that hurt never got passed me and I'm getting older. The other day I just decided to get one. I looked over many models. The price on the brother model and number of reviews nearly roped me in. It was the consistent noise reports that led me to the Juki. I was able to get it threaded and stitching while watching a video for a similar model. I fixed an expensive garment with it and it looks great!
