  • You won't get it the first time
Style: IR Control
It does work but you have to do alot of things for ideal setup Do not use Moes app, use Tuya App to make it function, also make sure your iphone and the device are on the same network and make sure you enter the password into the app EXACTLY I kept making the mistake of using the incorrect password ensure private address and hide local ip tracking is disabled in wifi settings it works on all my devices it has a line of sight of- however it wont reach the air conditioner on the other side of the house- id need another ir blaster for that ... show more

  • Does the trick. Works well.
Style: IR Control
I've been looking for a way to put my projectors on a timer since I use them for my holiday decorations. These do the trick for the most part. Only a couple times have they not worked. But still a great product. Setup is a little confusing, but easy enough to figure out.

Style: IR Control
This product acts as a bridge; allowing non-networked IR controlled devices such as AC, TV, fans, heaters, etc.; to be network controlled by either the SmartLife/Tuya app, Alexa, Google Home, or any other IoT device or service that has access to the SmartLife/Tuya platform API. DO NOT EXPECT to have 100% operational control over everything you try to pair, with what the instructions and app interface affectionately call "the (MoesGo) device." At a minimum, expect only to control just the power. The difficulties you will experience pairing the (MoesGo) "device" with your IR controlled devices are both technological, and executional; and your mileage may vary, from one IR controlled device to another. ======================================== Technology: Your IR controlled device must be able to recognize IR signals, sent using the 38khz "carrier frequency." Other carrier frequencies are in use, but 38khz is the most common. There is also a 36khz carrier frequency. If the component tolerances in your IR remote are more than 10% off, your IR controlled device may still recognize the signals sent by the IR remote, but the MoesGo device MAY NOT. 38khz carrier frequency recognition is required, if you want to use the "button-by-button learning mode" to pair the MoesGo device with your IR controlled device. If you take the "button-by-button" approach to pairing; your IR remote MUST BE ABLE to continuously retransmit the IR signal, if you keep holding the button(s) down. Go into another room with the IR remote, and hold down the power button. Now walk back into the room containing the IR controlled device, with your finger still on the button. If the IR controlled device does not respond, the MoesGo device WILL NOT be able to learn that particular button. ======================================== Execution: You can also use a cloud database, of crowdsourced (and possibly unvetted), IR codes to pair the MoesGo device with your IR controlled device. You will first be asked to select the brand and category of IR controlled device. You will then be guided down a tree of different "possible" buttons. For example, you will be be asked to try 12 different power button codes, until you find one that works for your particular IR controlled device. Once you find a button that works, you will be presented with another "possible" button to try. The issue I have, is that it is possible to run into a dead end. If you run into a button that you don't have on your IR controlled device, it is VERY DIFFICULT to backtrack on the tree (you can't "skip this button"). Alternatively, once you've "confirmed" a minimum number of buttons; you can also select from a number of IR remote layouts, looking for a layout that has at least 2 or 3 buttons, that your IR controlled device responds to. After you manage to find a working set of codes for your particular IR controlled device; you are then given the option of "sharing," and uploading your work back to the cloud database; adding another tree branch, for the next user to wander down. This obviously is NOT as simple to use as say, a Logitech Harmony Hub; which usually costs 90% more. If all you expect is to be able to ask Alexa or Google to turn something on/off; then it is worth the frustration. One more thing... Remember, the Tuya SoC only recognizes the 2.4G WIFI band. Switch your phone or tablet to the 2.4G WIFI band, BEFORE pairing the SmartLife/Tuya app with the MoesGo device. ... show more

  • Works! Good instructions.
Style: IR+RF Control
Works well for both RF and IR. Instructions were specific and correct. Gave it 4 stars because the instructions are printed in 5 point font = difficult to read WITH a magnifying glass. The Smart Life app asks for your location, but after set-up you can skip this for better privacy.

  • Your mileage may vary
Style: IR+RF Control
Linking the device to my Smart Life app was pretty simple and straightforward. I eventually got the programming to work on my retractable awning although it was rather persnickety. For example I programmed the "open" button, which seemed OK. Then I programmed the "close" button and the "open button" seemed to gray out on me. In addition I had a "pause" button to program, which I still never really got to work. The buttons kept graying out on me randomly as if I never programmed them. So I tried over and over again until it seemed like the open and close buttons stayed enabled and worked most of the time. I could never get the "pause" button to work even though it's just a regular 433Mhz signal like the others. Having it out there for a good 3 days or so I notice that this thing, for whatever reason, likes to randomly disconnect from Wi-Fi for a good 20-30 minutes at a time. I don't know why. I have a dedicated 2.4Ghz wi-fi router RIGHT there for it to connect to. I will see about removing the device and re-pairing it to see if that maybe makes a difference before I return this. Having it disconnect randomly is unacceptable. Beyond this, I happen to have specific needs for my home automation ecosystem. I run SmartThings. To be fair the description does not say it is SmartThings compatible however the SmartThings icon DOES show up under this device in the SmartLife app, yet the device isn't carried over after properly linking my accounts. I can't fault the product for this since they didn't say specifically that it was ST compatible. Since direct SmartThings integration wasn't an option, I had to spend time figuring out the Tuya message syntax for this device and after a bunch of trial-and-errors and research I was able to use the local API and control it. Now the next step is to create a ST Edge driver to link the two together. Though this goes beyond regular consumer usage of the device I DID reach out to MoesGo customer support asking for assistance with this integration. I got NO support and a canned response saying "just use Smart Life". I *will* dock the company for this, as this type of support is expected nowadays as everyone has different home automation software. ... show more

  • RF learning?
Style: IR+RF Control
Easy to join WiFi and easy to set up IR and join with Alexa. I could not make it learn RF codes. I hope I am missing something, and somone here (manufacturer or user) can help me out. If not, it goes back.
