  • Great guitar for a great price
Color: Surf Green Style: Surf Green
Classic Vibes continues to be one of the best value guitars on the market. The guitar arrived without damage and played well out of the box. I did a full setup and string change. The neck was set up well but i did take about 1/4 of a turn of relief out of the neck but that is a personal preference on setup it was playable out of the box. No high frets or fret sprout of any kind. Just a hopefully helpful hint. I did have a buzz from the bridge when I first took the guitar out of the box. All it took to fix that was to detune and give the bridge a wiggle to seat. This guitar comes with a Mustang style bridge so it sits on pivots so reseating it should fix that if you run into that as well. No tools required for that adjustment. ... show more

  • Great guitar, low action, fast playing, can really shred with this baby!
Color: Surf Green Style: Surf Green
Great electric guitar and worth the money, stays in tune over time and the different settings are awesome! It feels a little lighter than other guitars I have but still has a little heft and feels really solid when playing. The neck length is short and the perfect size to get some chord combos I struggled on other electrics, plays like a dream, low action and easy to do bends and hammer offs. Buy it, you'll love it! ... show more

  • An Affordable Mustang But It Needs Some Setup
The shorter scale and lack of body contouring takes a bit of adjustment but the guitar is very comfortable to play. Looking at a 1960s Mustang manual, the recommended string gauges were .013-.055 or .010-.038 round wound and .012-.050 or .013-.054 flatwound strings (in the mid-Sixties all Fender guitars came with .012-.052 round wound strings); I changed to some .012-.052 flatwounds, a little lighter than what I have on my Jazzmaster. While adjusting the bridge height for the new strings was not difficult, the same cannot be said for moving the vibrato springs to the bottom post notch to adjust for for higher tension strings. The ends of the springs had been crimped so tightly around the post that a lot of time was spent bending the spring ends just enough so that they could be taken off the top notch (there are three notches per post). The neck is easy to play and at first impression the Indian laurel fretboard definitely doesn't look (some lemon oil does help) or feel like rosewood but it feels fine. What did not feel fine was the frets — they were in need of dressing. They felt rough like sandpaper under the strings and the sharp fret ends needed some filing. The Saf-Ti-String style tuners have been a personal favorite for decades and make string changing easy and give a neat appearance. Is the nut actually bone? It's hard to tell. It doesn't feel like bone, but eventually I may replace it with a Tusq nut. I did replace the string tree with a Tusq one because I had an extra one. The Fender Dynamic Vibrato unit is a lot less intuitive than the Jazzmaster's and I recommend consulting the internet for advice on setting it up, because the supplied information sheet is mostly in Spanish and has a diagram of a different vibrato unit and Fender's website link to a manual on the product page is not instrument specific. I'm not looking to do Adrian Belew-style bends, just an occasional surf-style vibrato accent, and I'm aware of the Mustang vibrato's reputation for not staying in tune. Electronics sound fine and I'll definitely replace them with higher quality parts eventually. Overall a great guitar, just be prepared to do some setup work. ... show more

  • Scratches the Jaguar itch! Scratches the Jaguar itch!
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: 3-Color Sunburst
Great guitar! Plays wonderfully and it stays in tune well. The tremolo bar needed a little tightening and I adjusted the neck slightly but those weren’t difficult fixes. I’d recommend this to anyone. Save a grand just to not be labeled “Fender” instead of “Squier “. All the switches worked great. I love the rhythm circuit too! I’ve wanted a Jaguar for forever and this definitely scratches that itch. Oh! I also love the shorter scale. Can reach chords and notes a lil easier. The weight is light feeling too. I did change the strings to Earnie Ball Power Slinky. I’d recommend this too. Just a fun guitar!😺 ... show more

  • Wow!
Color: Black Style: Black
Wow! I always wanted an offset guitar and did a little research before purchasing. As with many products there are positives as well as negative reviews and you have to weigh the options. That being said I decided to give the squire 70’s CV Jaguar a try. Before the guitar arrived I will admit I was very skeptical & expected something that would require a lot of work & attention to make playable. (Side note: I had a horrible experience with an American made telecaster a couple of purchases ago in hindsight I should’ve returned or refused the guitar but did the work needed to be done). When the Jaguar arrived I can say the setup was perfect as well as everything else. The quality was on par or better than the higher dollar fenders and the sound is excellent! I am very impressed. Made me a believer! Import or not this guitar is worth the price! ... show more

  • Stays in Tune - Looks Awesome - Block Inlay Neck!!! Stays in Tune - Looks Awesome - Block Inlay Neck!!!
Color: Black Style: Black
OMG I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! - Once I got it all set up I can't seem to put it down. Watched a lot of YouTube video reviews before I pulled the trigger so I was ready when it showed up to do some tweaking but it was in really good shape on arrival. Zero issues with fit and finish. I did wrap some electrical tape around the bridge posts to keep them from moving too much and messed around with string height. Then I also replaced the tortoise shell pick guard with a mother of toilet seat white one from Musiclily (Pro 10-Hole 65 60s Vintage Style Guitar Pickguard for Fender American) which I also love. Put a lot of lemon oil on the fingerboard (mutiple times) and that really helped make the block inlay pop. The Fender tremolo with logo was added by me just because I liked it - nothing wrong with the tremolo that it was shipped with. Also put on Ernie Ball #2593 flatwound strings (nine gage) which are well worth the extra bucks. I also own an USA made Tele and a MIM Acoustisonic Tele which were my favorites until this baby showed up. In my opinion this guitar is as good as the other two although it is way less money. One more time - I LOVE THIS GUITAR! ... show more

  • Wow. Much better than expected. A+
Color: Surf Green Style: Surf Green
Impeccable is all I can say! Wasn't expecting this level of craftsmanship but they blew it out of the park. The guitar even came perfectly setup and in tune which is amazing for a jaguar type instrument. The color is a little bit duller in person but it still looks amazing; I expect it will bloom when the UV rays ages it. Anyways, did I mention poplar bodies on Jaguars are indeed vintage accurate? Also, I cannot tell the laurel fretboard from a rosewood one. Its very nice and consistent unlike rosewood which you will get the luck of the slim pickings. I would rank these up there with their japanese counterparts in terms of craftsmanship. I forgot to mention that the electronics sound amazing: alnico pickups! Maybe this guitar is not 100% vintage accurate in some small things but this is an axe of its own. These will be legendary in the near future, and may be dissed like japanese squiers where back then. In the mean time this guitar will serve wonders in my classic rock inspired cover band. I was not a believer but now I want the jazzmaster too! ... show more
