Description

Aveline cooling gel mattress is CertiPUR-US certified by accredited independent testing laboratories, so you can be confident that the memory foam is made without formaldehyde, ozone depleters, mercury, and other heavy metals including PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants, and is low on VOC. This 10 inch memory foam mattress comes vacuum-packed and rolled to fit into an easily portable box. It takes 2 to 4 hours for the gel mattress from your bed in a box to expand most of the way and a day to expand y. Includes a removable stretch knit diamond patterned cover. I was hesitant to buy this mattress at first after reading the reviews. I'd like to go through the notes that others had made that I was worried about when I decided to buy this item: Smell When we first opened the mattress, there was definitely a strong, sorta like freshly painted room smell. We'd bought a cover for the mattress, but left it off for the two days we left it to expand, and left the doors/windows open in the room when practical. Smell was gone after the first day, and I've made a point of trying to find it, especially early on. Just make sure you give plenty of airflow and time to get that painty smell to dissapate and you should be set. Firmness/Comfort This is definitely a memory foam mattress. My boyfriend put it the best when he gave me a warning when I first lay in the bed: it'll be uncomfortable at first, because it conforms to you, you don't confirm to it. The bed itself is stiff when you first lay down, and when changing positions. Once the foam readjusts to your position, it's so comfortable. I have chronic back problems, and am pregnant, so sleeping was getting to be a literal pain before we got this bed. Now, I wake up with little.to no back pain--a contrast to our old mattress, where I'd wake up in more pain than when I went to sleep. Memory foam is a stiff material just as is. The comfort comes not from the stiffness or softness of the material, but from the support it provides, and your body being allowed to actually rest in a natural position, rather than in a flat traditional spring bed. Sitting/sleeping on the edge Wasn't sure how else to put this one? I'm the kind of person who sleeps and sits on the veeeeery edge of the bed. A few reviews mentioned that the corner couldn't support their weight, and they rolled off. I'm sitting on the edge of the bed as I write this, and there's no real sagging problem. When I sleep near the edge, I feel more than supported. I've never felt like I was going to roll off (unless I was actually trying to roll off). Overall, if you like memory foam, this is a fantastic, cheap buy. If you're unfamiliar with memory foam as a material, you may struggle to adjust to actually sleeping on it.

Update: 7 months later and it’s still as comfortable as the first week I got it. Buy this one. Seriously. Update: 3 and a half months later and I still absolutely love it. I spent more time hesitating and procrastinating over which bed in a box mattress to by than probably any other purchase I’ve made in my life... I’ve had 2 lols of neuro surgery so a good bed for me is a health consideration. Probably, all in all, it took me two weeks to finally decide on this one. It’s certainly not one of the most popular ones but I thought I’d take a gamble on it because it does seem to have the most consistent reviews. The other mattresses especially the Zinus greet tea mattresses seem to have reviews that are just such a wash. One person will say that it was a really great firm mattress and then someone will say (about the exact same, mattress same width, same size) that it’s a great fluffy soft mattress. Some people will say that it was a terribly soft mattress and they couldn’t sleep on it while other people will say that it was a terribly firm mattress and couldn’t sleep on it. I was just getting so incredibly frustrated so in the end the reason why I decided to take a gamble on this particular mattress was the consistency of the reviews. I’d like to add my own here. I am really pleased to say that after letting it expand, which it did very evenly and very quickly, and that after getting used to it for the first two nights, I’ve decided that I absolutely love it! The best example I can give of how it feels is like a Tempur-pedic mattress at 1/8 of the price. I don’t know how long it’s going to last but after sleeping on it for only a week I can say at this point that I totally recommend it. It’s a traditional memory foam mattress in the sense that it is that squishy stuck in the mud sort of feeling but it’s not in anyway a bad or awkward thing... it’s just a style of mattress. It’s also oddly supportive on the heaviest parts of my body, like my hips, where I need to support the most. Just for reference, I am a 29-year-old girl who is currently overweight at 200 pounds. This will make a difference to some people... I’m not certain if a lighter person may like it as much (though I’d assume they would) but I really am very fond of it. Definitely would be a great mattress for pretty much any dude as most guys are, weight wise, usually in that sort of range. All in all... I adore it. It hasn’t given me back pain (which it would have by now if it was going to) and has definitely relieved the pressure from my hips. Buy this one. You won’t regret it.

I am reviewing the 10" Queen mattress. The unvarnished truth- **I have a very acute sense of smell. The chemical odor that some other reviews mention was non-existent for me. The minute I opened the plastic I sniffed the material hard. Nothing. Maybe the odor issue has been resolved by the company since the older reviews because I promise you I would not be able to lay on it if it had a chemical odor. **It is incredibly easy to handle up four flights of stairs. Packed well. Zero problem unpacking. Someone half my weight/size could manage it. Mattress starts decompressing immediately. Within an hour it feels and looks like a regular mattress. It will continue to take its true form over time but it becomes full sized and ready to go in moments. **This is a uniquely FIRM mattress because of the foam. If you are accustomed to traditional mattresses, it might take a night or two before you fully adjust to the feeling of being supported yet somewhat enveloped by the material. **The mattress has a ten year warranty. The positive reviews on Amazon are for real. If you take a chance on this new type of mattress (like I did) I am sure you'll be satisfied. **My mattress was $275 delivered for free with Prime. No hassle delivery in four business days. **You can put it on a traditional box spring, foundation or frame, or you can use one of the newer frames like the ZINUS I purchased. If you are on a budget, this mattress would even work on the floor. **I have had sleep issues for almost two decades due to multiple injuries. I am a side sleeper and I need support. So far, this mattress suits my needs all the way. A+! **I will revisit the review again in a couple of months, but as you can tell, I highly recommend this mattress.

This is for a guest bed. Here is what we know. It is warm but our guest slept with a fan and also has hot flashes, but didn't comment that they couldn't escape the heat and she did however sleep well and through the night where she usually doesn't. It is sinky and soft very much a memory foam feel, but again pretty good on the bones! I don't think there's a lot of tossing done in this bed where that sink feels exhausting. It puffed up over the day really well, no smell. We overall are very pleased, with mattresses it's a personal preference and how your body responds, so far 3 of us didn't mind it at all and our guest who usually tosses and has restless leg actually slept in. I think it's a great shot for the price!

I’ve been meaning to write this for a few months. This was one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. So a couple things you should know about me.. 1. I used to be a bed snob. I got my first credit card after college and bought a super expensive bed (full size- dumb me). Pillow top lining and all that. Then a couple years later when I wanted a queen, I was poor from student loans and got a cheap mattress/box spring and no frame. I’d invest in mattress toppers (foam and down / feathers).. and then last year when I became a home owner and wanted king size bed, I did my research. I came across this mattress and was skeptical of reviews as the cost was pretttay good. My bf and I got this bad boy, along with a bed frame to fit.. and it is amazing. It’s my first memory foam and I was nervous since I was used to fluffy, but it’s perfect. It’s firm where I feel my back is much more supported, but it’s also soft and feels melty which I love. Best of both worlds. My BF loves it too. I am a bad sleeper and I think it’s helped my sleep, and my back, but not sure if it’s psychological or not. But I love this bed, love the price, love that you don’t need mattress pad or box spring (saves you $$). Super happy with purchase and shipping time. My only caveat is that I got the 10” and not sure if less would be different. So get the 10 inch!!!!

I've had it for a year and a half and it still feels pretty firm. If I'm in one side too long(a few months) a minor dent will form over time but it comes right back when I move to another side. I'm a floor sleeper and this mattress is perfect for the floor. The support has remained firm yet cozy. Very comfortable and stays cool. The package was large and heavy so have help getting it upstairs or be strong enough to push/slide it up quickly. I pulled it out andsaw it was double wrapped, once for shrink wrap and second to hold the roll up in place. Make sure to have it placed in an out of thw way area that it can rest uninterrupted for 24 hours. I made the mistake of unrolling it in my hallway then had to awkwardly maneuver it onto our guest bed so it would be out of the way while drying. While cutting open the 2nd bag(shrink wrap layer) it instantly started expanding and opened up to almost 8 inches. After an hour it was almost 9 in thick and was still expanding. Then 24 hours later it was dry and set. I was able to move it by myself by sliding it like most mattresses turned upright. It had a mild chemical smell that faded quickly and wasn't noticable after a few days. I'm really pleased with this mattress. I don't wake up stiff or sore. My daughter has slept beside me and moves a lot all night. I never felt her move at all so that's a bonus.

I have used this item for 5 nights and my back and neck are a disaster. I'm not sure if my body just doesn't respond well to memory foam, or what. I am a stomach and back sleeper and I've been waking up every hour to change position this last week. Today I had enough and reminded myself that even if amazon didn't agree to take it back (which they did, graciously) I would donate it over sleeping another night on it. If you have any back issues what-so-ever I don't think this is a great purchase, I don't even have back and neck trouble and I'm so achy today that I had to see a PT. I wanted to love this bed but I can't... I do think for people who like the way your hips sink into memory foam that this is actually a good quality memory foam mattress, but if you need a lot of support or for things to realign at night, I wouldn't recommend. It does keep you cool and temperate though, which is nice is you sleep hot. Corners of the bed are not reinforced so its not great for sitting on if you need to put shoes on or need help getting dressed. As far as the smell, it does have an odor that didn't dissipate, and it made my sheets smell as well, I was waking up with sinus and lung issues, can't 100% contribute it to the mattress but its possible. Keep in mind that the mattress is not made in the US and that is has a chemical smell that can only be contributed to chemicals. I would not put my baby, or child if I had one on this mattress as I worry about the chemical off-gassing. Sorry Modway, I wanted to love you.

I've been sleeping on this mattress for less than a week now, so I cannot speak for longevity. I prefer a firm mattress, and this one really works for me. I've slept very well for the last several nights on this mattress. Sometimes I sleep on my back, sometimes on my side -- either way, this mattress has been comfortable for me. I really hope it will last! If you are looking for a fluffy "sleeping on a cloud" experience, this is NOT the mattress for you. If you are looking for firm support that molds to your shape, this is it. The one negative is the the smell. It's been in my room now for 3 days and there is still a moderate chemical smell. That said -- I have a fairly sensitive nose, and this is noticeable, but not overwhelming to me. The friend who helped me set up my new bed, and who has an average sense of smell, said he could smell "something" but it wasn't strong enough to him to be a problem. So, if I could, I'd rate this 4.5 stars for the smell. UPDATE: It has now been almost 3 years, and the mattress is holding up just fine. I rotate and flip it on a regular basis (every 3-4 months) - whenever I feel like it's got an indentation shaped like me. So far, still so good! The smell dissipated quickly enough - less than a week, as I recall.
