This product was well designed and easy to assemble for an experienced DIYer. For the number of parts and pre-drilled holes, I only had 1 piece that did not fit (pre-drilled holes in a wooden support) but super easy to fix. Plus, I contacted customer service, and they were willing to send a replacement if I needed it. HINTS: - Ships in 6 large boxes that are between 80-140lbs each. I just laid them down inside my front door, slid them to my dining room and started unpacking them. - *** The Instructions and small HW was inside BOX 5. It took me a while to find and because of the large number of parts, I wanted to do inventory while I was searching for the instructions. Luckily, I found the instructions online. - The instructions are good and give you a total of small parts needed for each step. There are a few times that you really need to look at the picture to make sure you have the piece oriented correctly for the roof. Q2 has ridges that need to face outward to roof pieces. H2 – Roof Ribs are flat on the bottoms and angled on the top for the roof panels. See attached picture. - I had a 10’ A-frame Ladder which was awesome, but 8’ would probably do for assembling the roof. I would NOT suggest an extension ladder because you don’t have anything to lean it against. - Power Drill and some Hex bits and a couple of large sockets 11/16” (17mm) Most screws and botts are hex and some are Phillips. They provide some simple hand tools but there is no way you would want to use them. It would be nice if they included the 2 sizes of hex drill bits. - I assembled 80% of this by myself and had my son-in-law come over for getting the post up and supported and to help with the top of the roof. - You only need about 18" on each side if you are assembling in a tight spot. I had one side up next to a roof cover that was tight for doing the roof on that side but with a good ladder and tall helper it worked out. Plus, I think the total shipping weight was around 500 lbs, so I was able to move it around with help for the final place I wanted it. - Also note all water drains to the corners and comes out of a small hole in the bottom of one of the supports. Overall, this product looks great and is very sturdy. Cedar looks great.

I bought this 6x8 cedar grill gazebo for our backyard patio and finally got around to setting it up last weekend. The instruction manual is clear. Each column has a different function, and I accidentally mixed them up at first—had to take them out and rearrange, which cost me some time. The whole thing took two full afternoons to install, so definitely not a quick setup, but it looks great now that it's done. I’m not sure if the cedar wood can be painted, but I might try sealing it just to help it last longer since we plan to use it a lot. The shelves and built-in paper towel holder are super handy, and the roof feels solid. The USB and USB-C ports are a nice touch—we can charge our phones right while grilling.

The media could not be loaded. Took approx 6-8 hours with 2 people. Instructions were very clear. All parts were delivered and in good condition. The counter and shelving are sturdy and able to use fully. We love it! The quality and pricing are exceptional.

Since we moved to our new home, we have always wanted a covered patio, sunroom or gazebo. We finally were able to do that this year. We decided to go with the Modern Shade 12 x 12 gazebo because of its cost and unique roof design with cedar wood elements. We actually had to extend our concrete patio two feet to accommodate the new gazebo. When we finally got the required building permits and approval from HOA it was time to place the order. Three days after our purchase the gazebo arrived and was dropped off on our driveway. The unit came in 6 large boxes. I think that the most important aspect of this project was getting an accurate inventory of all the pieces and components involved in the process. The hardware is clearly identified on cardboard laminated sheets. All components were marked and pre drilled accurately. Make sure you are squared away with location. Square opposite corners at 90 degrees. The installation instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The second important aspect was to follow the step by step process outlined in the instruction manual. I have to admit that I was a little intimidated by the sheer number of pieces with all the hardware. I would suggest using a couple kitchen utensil bins to separate hardware. Keep nuts, bolts screws in packaging in the bins. I recommend that you have some help with the assembly. At least one other person. Take your time and have fun. We began construction two weeks ago. The components were laid out for each step and assembled. The parts were pre drilled and everything went together well. Another very important consideration is not to tighten any screws completely until all nuts, bolts and screws have been started. We had a couple of issues with the parts either missing or defective. The first problem was the R3 bracket did not have the “river nuts”. I emailed the manufacturer and the new brackets were shipped and received within 5 days. The second issue we had were the bolts that hold the roof sheets down wouldn’t tighten due to the “river nuts” spinning inside the support bracket. I was informed that it could take weeks to get the replacement supports. I didn’t want to wait that long. I inquired about warranty being voided and was told that I would not void the warranty so it was decided to drill through the support bracket and attached a locking nut. The only thing visible on the interior support beam are 6 locking nuts. I think the manufacturer should have a better option for mounting there “river nuts” The rest of the installation went very smoothly. If we didn’t have any issues we would have completed the job in one weekend. We are very excited to have this extra covered space for back yard entertaining. The gazebo looks great and adds value to our outdoor space. I would recommend this gazebo because it’s practical, inexpensive and aesthetically appealing. I’m happy to have it done in time for spring and summer entertaining. My goal is to get some new furniture and drapes to make it a comfortable outdoor retreat. I’ve had this up for 8 mos and I love it! It was very easy to put together by myself. Although, extra hands would’ve been nice. I did put a coat of oil based stain this summer to make sure the wood doesn’t dry out. I have a Backyard Discovery gazebo and this is very comparable for a cheaper price. Very happy with purchase.

My husband and our neighbor spent almost a full Saturday putting it together. The instructions were okay, just needed a bit of patience. The cedar wood smelled really nice right out of the box. I placed it right outside our back door, and it works perfectly as an outdoor kitchen. Very convenient for grilling and preparing food close to the house. The USB and USB-C ports work great, especially when our phones are low on battery. On Sunday, we made lunch out there and everything we needed was within reach.
