I was in need of a floor lamp to illuminate a dark corner of my office, but trying to decide what it shouldn’t look like or what style lamp I really wanted was taking more time than I wanted to spend on the subject. I asked my wife what she thought, and instantly told me to find something simple, not-trendy, timeless, and DON’T SPEND A LOT!!!! Ok. I went to Amazon to browse lamps that I thought fit the parameters of my wife’s decorating advice. I must have looked at 100 floor lamps until I came upon this model that said, “I’m the one”!! I placed my order. Once the lamp arrived and was unboxed, I knew I had made the correct choice!! There is a very small amount of assembly needed, but anyone can do it if they can spare a minute or two. Once assembled, I liked the lamp even more. It stands a respectable 66 inches tall, has a classic yet modern minimalist mushroom shade, and is finished in matte black. The lamp has a slight “Industrial” vibe to it and fits into the once dark corner easily as it’s slim proportions doesn’t take up much space. The base of the lamp is a wide circle that is weighted to prevent tip-overs and keeps the lamp where you put it!! The light has a presence, but isn’t a “stand-out” and certainly isn’t overpowering as it stands there illuminating what once was dark!!! The entire floor lamp is made of metal which should ensure it lasts a long time doing what it was purchased for. The lamp uses a standard E26 bulb (not included with the lamp), so you have lots of choices as to the wattage and color temperature of bulb you’ll install to create the atmosphere you desire. I’m glad that I chose this floor lamp over many others. I needed a lamp that was affordable, provided the type of lighting I needed, looked good and fit in with the decor of my office, and was built strong so it would last for years of practice and dependable service!!! I rate this lamp a solid 10 out of 10 because it fit all of the parameters I just listed above!!! This lamp is a lighting fixture to me. Yet, because of its looks, it can become anything you want it to be. It can be a statement piece of a small room, an additional lamp in a more modernistic office or home space, or the perfect accent piece you’ve been looking for to fit into that little space that nothing else seemed to work!!! Make this lamp your own!!! It is affordable enough to purchase, and flexible enough to become whatever you need it to be!!!!!

I like this lamp for the most part, but there are a couple of things to be aware of if you're thinking of ordering one. I'll name the cons first. The switch which sits on the floor, is not weighted. It being weighted would be really helpful to keep it in the correct position. Since it's so light you have to work the cord and kind of trap it in a way that keeps the switch properly positioned so that you can click it on and off with your foot. The switch does work really well though and is very responsive. It also makes a satisfying click sound which I really like. I do worry that since it is such a lightweight plastic piece, that if you're not careful, over time, it could end up cracking. So I do wish there were an option to switch it on and off up at the top of the lamp as well. The hood or lamp shade has a very bad paint job. You can see lots of white through the black paint. It's obvious it was airbrushed and they missed large swaths when it comes to filling in the color. This doesn't affect the functionality of the lamp but it does take away from its attractiveness for sure. Kind of makes me wish I had ordered the gold one instead because with all of the speckles in the paint it makes it look really cheap. I do love the height of the lamp. It's perfect for placing next to a recliner because the light will be directed into the immediate area below rather than brightening up a whole room. It's good for night time. I do wish the light was more adjustable in both brightness and direction but I didn't expect the lampshade to be posible so I knew what I was getting. It was extremely easy to assemble. It has a heavy weighted base and then multiple short poles that screw together with the cord running through all of it and straight out the bottom, so as you attach the poles you slowly start pulling the cord through the bottom to tighten things up. It literally took me a few minutes to completely assemble. I would absolutely order this again, but knowing that the paint job might not be full or complete makes me question whether I would pay this much for it. I would definitely order it if it were on sale though. I had no issues with the light flickering since, as I said, the switch works great. On that note, there is no remote control with this lamp. It has the floor switch and that is it.

I ordered the mushroom floor lamp for the living room. Upon opening the box, I noticed that the base of the lamp was heavy. The assembly of the lamp was easy and straightforward. It took me a few minutes to set up. I liked the lamp's matte finish, which has a modern, sleek design. The lightbulb was not included, so I used my own lightbulb. I absolutely love the mushroom floor lamp. The modern mushroom design adds a sophisticated and contemporary feel to my living room. The black color design is subtle, which feels warm and inviting. I like the power switch on the floor, so I can turn it on or off by simply stepping on the floor power switch. The mushroom floor lamp elevates living room aesthetics and improves the aura of the room. Overall, the mushroom floor lamp is a good value, and the item description was accurate.
