I was really nervous getting an electric fireplace having grown up with a wood burning one in my childhood and given the high-quality of gas burning fireplaces that exist today. I wanted something that looked as authentic as possible. I settled on this one because of how it looks, size (my space for it was not huge), and that is also emits heat. Ever since receiving it and assembling it, I could not be more pleased! Not only does it look wonderful and add a cozy element to my space, but really is very functional and beautiful. While the heat is subtle, my nearby thermostat has been raised up to 3 degrees just by using the fireplace. There are almost too many settings for speed of flames, heat temp, a timer, colors, etc, but having options is always nice once you know what you're working with. I prefer the traditional look, but you can tailor it in so many ways. I was worried about the quality of the fireplace itself, and the mantle and what the flame looks like, but the quality was better than expected. The flames are as real as electric flames can look, I think, and it is a very lovely piece., and even my family/friends with real fireplaces are impressed. The only thing I don't love is the crackler, which doesn't sound very realistic, and how loud the heat element can get, although it is very much just a white noise you forget after a while. Bonus points to the maker of this product, Modern Ember, who has fantastic customer service. Once put together this product is amazing, it comes with a remote and has a bunch of settings that adjusts the fire color, brightness, and heat settings (it actually admits heat and pretty much is a big fancy heater) My only gripe is that after putting the 5 mantle pieces together (which that part was super easy) I then had to figure out how to take the glass off the heater piece without breaking it and figure out how to arrange the fake wood and coals inside it without instructions because once you assemble the mantle they kinda leave you hanging and it comes with like a styrofoam box inside it. The coals and fake wood come in like 2 plastic sealed bags and that piece of styrofoam found inside. Wasn’t a huge fan of that (I wish they were preset/didn’t move) but I’m also not super great at trying to make a wood stack look good, but I suppose if that’s your thing it did give it a bit extra customization, but being that I just moved the last thing I wanted was more mess and it was also just difficult to keep it contained (ie off my floor) and still arranged so it looks nice without it shifting and then obviously once I got like the wood to balance on the loose coals in a stack I then had to get the glass on and then slide it into the mantle part (which made some pieces inside shift) so yea just wish the wood and coals were fixed and not loose like you see in one of my photos. Satisfied overall tho, kinda a ridiculous price for a big glorified heater with led lights but I really liked the way it looked, and it does more than what I expected with the lights and heat. Unique design and super natural look. Fits nicely with the rest of my furniture theme and my living room. I also love that it’s fluted. Gave it that extra character I was looking for. ... show more

Very beautiful fireplace and mantle. Only negative I would say is the top lights that are designed to light your logs up also shines on the floor in front of the fireplace. Taking away from the effect looks best with these lights turned off. I have written the manufacturer asking about a possible way to adjust these lights to contain it within the fire box. ... show more
