    • Ehh Good but not Great
So I do a lot of car wiring / remote starts / alarms and for the most part I generally splice and solder/heat shrink all my connections but for either my personal stuff or customers that are on a real tight budget I would always use something similar to these called “ Posi Taps” which are basically identical concept wise and using them cuts my labor time in half which saves the customer a lot of money even with the added cost of the posi taps. They are honestly the only type of wire tap I would ever even consider using. Never ever in my life have I or will I use scotch locks as i personally think they are the absolute worst and just make a very weak and poor connection but posi taps on the other hand really work great and I’ve never had a come back and I’ve talked to a couple of my long term clients that went this route and many are going on 4-5+ years and no issues. But even with the posi taps making the job much fast they really are quite expensive, but there was simply no other alternative even close to the same until I came across these babies a few months ago!! I’m not sure how long they have been on the market but it can’t be super long as I would look quite often for posi tap alternatives so when I first saw these and then the cost I about jumped thru the ceiling!! Haha they looked identical, same concept and all. But after receiving them I have to say there is a reason why they are much cheaper as these simply just don’t have the same “heft” to them and the metal piercing rod just doesn’t seem very sharp. They do technically work but you really gotta crank them down and even then I’ve had some iffy connections so for now im still sticking to posi taps for the big stuff but I do still use these for either some easily accessible and not super important for things like tapping into the reverse wire of a car for a back up camera etc etc and as of now they are doing the job but only time will tell! If you’re someone who uses scotch locks then absolutely at least upgrade to these things as they are still way better!! ... show more

    • Easy to use after a few tries
I like this type of connector from ones of years past, however it may take a few tries to make contact with your supply feed. I found that installing the unit to each side of the feed line as tight as you can then removing and reinstalling so the pin is in the same location works best. Best to have a DVM to check the connection before attaching the lamp. If you use a DVM remember it may be an AC supply so adjust meter as needed. I think if the pins were a little longer it would help. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Looks wise, it is just great. I feel good about how it looks. Height adjustment is one button per string, push string in to reduce, push button to drop it down. Takes little time to figure out though. Innumerable number of design options, customize it as needed. Installation instructions could improve little bit, though customer help is good. Need 2 person to install since it is heavy and when screwing it to ceiling someone needs to hold it. ... show more

    • Doesn’t exactly work for 12,14 & 16 ga wire.not self centering
Works well with 12ga wire but I didn’t find these very useful with smaller gauge wire. These don’t self center the wire like other quick connects.
