I’m very happy with my purchase. I originally had a very similar lamp here that was far too low for my partner. I ordered this one hoping it would be tall enough for him to sit comfortably (he’s 6’5) and it is! I’ve seen some other reviews where people seem to be hoping that it’s taller but I can’t picture that honestly….. the couch in the picture is the west elm Eddy if you want to get an idea of the proportions! I have it behind a couch so tipping isn’t a concern. I think it would be fine standing alone but I wouldn’t trust it with young children that may try to pull themselves up on it. ... show more

This lamp gives me all the light I need this winter.... It's beautiful. It is not as big as it may seem, diminutive but elegant. The brass is beautifully finished and the marble base very nice. I saw reviews suggesting it is tippy - so I place two large stones from the beach on it to keep it balanced. I don't mind. The remote allows me to put the power-switch within easy reach. It was easy to put together especially once I read the instructions, but really easy. Be careful not to drop the tiny screw -- but the seller includes a spare, which I found very thoughtful. ... show more
