    • It's a 30-MICRON Filter !
This "extended performance" oil filter is of THIRTY (30) MICRON filtering ability !! The filter media was made less restrictive to allow more miles before the filter would clog up and go into the "by-pass" mode. Most oil filters are in the TWENTY (20) MICRON range, which is 50% finer than the 30-Micron filter -- the 20-Micron filters keep more particles from circulating through your engine. The 20,000 miles-between-filter-changes SOUNDS like a great idea, but lowering the filter's efficiency in order to make it last longer is exactly backwards from the ideal situation. The really high price for a 30-Micron filter is another (good) reason to avoid this "extended performance" oil filter. After many years of experimenting with different oil filters on the same engine (4.6 liter 2v Ford/Mercury/Lincoln), I use and recommend the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5-w-30 Full Synthetic motor oil and the BOSCH # 3410 Premium Oil Filter -- changing the Oil Filter every 5,000 miles, and changing the Oil every 10,000 miles. That "Full Synthetic" designation means that the oil is not a "blend" of conventional and synthetic oils. At 165,000 miles, the 4.6 liter V-8 starts instantly, runs smooth and strong, and gets excellent fuel mileage. ... show more

I have never done a comparison between brands. I always run my oil to 8/9k, it's dirty when I change the oil of course, but I've removed the head covers to replace sensors. There is no signs of wear or varnish to make me think I should do anything differently. 2007 Mustang GT 110K miles

I love the product! I run Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil with this filter in all my vehicles. I put almost 30,000 miles on my car every year, and I wouldn't run any other kind of oil or filter in it... :)
