  • 90s kids dream come true
Style: White-OnionOS
I genuinely LOVE THIS. Pros: - functional, haven’t run into any issues with the battery or any heating issues. My main concern was overheating but i mainly play gameboy games so this is fine. - smooth. Gameplay is pretty smooth and runs like I remember back in the ye old days. - affordability. It’s a great first emulation device for first time emulation style gamers. This definitely makes me want to explore other devices as well! - so many games. OnionOS makes it really easy to control your games - portability. Great case and discreet size! The only con is I wish it was just so ever slightly larger. My fingers tend to hit the back of the system which has the L2 R2 buttons and that’s been a little frustrating to deal with, but that’s more a me problem than the system itself. ... show more

  • Great for all ages, especially those wanting to relive our 90s/early 2000s childhoods
Style: White-64
I gifted this to my 9 year old for his birthday yesterday and he was immediately obsessed. Out of the box, it has a plethora of games ready to play, but there are a couple of things that I recommend doing right away. Update the memory card with a higher quality, name brand one, like Sandisk or Samsung. You can get one for $10-$15 depending on the size. The one it comes with has plenty of storage, but it has no brand listed and who’s to say how great the quality is or how long the life is, so better to be safe than sorry. Follow a YouTube tutorial to install the operating system Onion (if it doesn’t come with it already, like mine did). It opens up a whole new library of games for different consoles that are compatible with this device, and installing it is a lot easier than it sounds. Onion even has a desktop installer that simplifies everything tenfold, and will even format the memory card for you all in one without any extra steps. Learning how to install new games is essential as well, but again, a lot easier than it sounds. There is a megathread on Reddit that has most everything you need in one place. Just download, drag, and drop into the memory card’s Rom folder for the specific console type (gameboy, PS, etc.). You don’t even need to extract each individual zip file. With Onion, you can also utilize a program called Scraper by pressing Y in the games list to find the box art for every game installed on the device, if there’s not one already, so the picture will pop up instead of just the highlighted name of the game on the list. So far, I am finding that certain PlayStation files will not work, so you need to find the ones that will (unsure of the name off the top of my head, but will update if I come back to this post). If nothing else, the stock card already has an extensive list of games to choose from. So far, I’m fairly impressed and as a kid, I would’ve freaked out if I had all of my gameboy and console games in one device. Miyoo is a reputable brand as far as these devices go, and I appreciate the kit that this device comes with as it has all the necessities I look for in a new device in one (screen protector and case), that not a lot of other listings are offering at this price. ... show more

  • A Great Device if you have a modicum of tech savvy
Style: White-OnionOS
With the Onion OS version, everything works out of the box, however, if you want to add your own ROMs (as I’m sure you will) it’s not 100% a frictionless and intuitive experience. I had to look up how to do it. For future purchasers here’s how to do it: (note: I intuited all these steps except for the last one) 1) take out microSD from bottom of device 2) put microSD in usb microSD reader and plug that into computer (included though I purchased my own) 3) find the roms file within your microSD and drag and drop the roms to the appropriate console subfolder (ex: the NES folder, say) 4) safely eject usb reader and put sd card back in console (so far this is relatively simple for most even non tech savvy folk as long as you understand folders and the way they’re structured) 5) (this is what I had to look up ) navigate to your emulators page (press the Games option on main menu) on your miyoo, press select button and press refresh ROMs. There you go, now roms should show up. One last tip: to add an emulator that doesn’t come with the console (the Nintendo ones for example) navigate to right on main menu and press a on apps option. Select “Package Manager” and turn on the emulators you want. If you could do both of those things, you’ll be fine, but it just takes a tiny bit of doing. After that, the system is fantastic and I’m especially impressed by the vibrant screen. ... show more

  • Ergonomic Handheld Gaming
Style: Transparent Black
I bought the Miyoo Mini Plus about six weeks ago, and honestly, I’m incredibly impressed. If you love retro games but don’t want something bulky, this is perfect. It’s small, lightweight, and fits in your hands super comfortably. This has allowed me to take my favorite games with me when I travel without having to bring several consoles, cartridges, etc. It comes with a bunch of games already loaded, which is awesome, and adding more via the microSD card is super simple. I’m already playing all my old Game Boy, NES, and SNES favorites without any issues. Battery life is solid—I can play for hours without having to recharge, which is great if I’m out and about. Plus, there’s some cool customization options if you want to tweak things a bit. If you’re into retro gaming, this is definitely worth picking up. It’s my new go-to for gaming while I’m out! Highly recommend! ... show more

Style: White-64
I couldn’t be more impressed with this little emulator. I’m so glad I did my research. By far the best purchase I’ve made in years. Comes with almost every game I wanted and super easy to install the games it didn’t. Worth every penny. 10/10

  • Great product
Style: T-Black-OnionOS
I am extremely satisfied with this product, especially at the pricepoint I received it at. The screen quality really blew me away, deep colors, and almost zero backlight bleed. The user interface is super easy to navigate as well. Exceeded my expectations.
