Been using this product for almost 2 months now to see if it was worth the low cost. First of all, to the clever reviewer who posted a picture making this item look like it was over heating... they clearly state do not overfill the water line to the top of lid. I followed directions and it works perfectly brewing coffee the way I like it. Easy to use and takes a couple minutes to make and less than a minute to clean for next brew. As far as longevity I think it should last a few years but even if it doesn't the low-price warrants buying another one. Very happy with this purchase and the mug that comes with it. ... show more

This little machine is a real trooper! I brew this thing at least 6 times a day and I've had it for almost 2 years with no signs of the dreaded 'drop-off'. The mug is ok, but there is some separation happening between the liner and shell. Still usable but not great. All in all, a great buy for what it is and it makes good tasting coffee! ... show more

We bought this coffee maker to take with us when we visit our kids and grandkids. My husband likes to get up really early and have a cup all by himself before everyone else gets up. It makes two smaller mugs of coffee and keeps one warm in the thermal mug. We have our full-size coffee maker at home, but this quiet, quick little coffee pot is not only cute, but also delivers a nice cup of coffee. We did follow directions to make two water run-throughs before we used it, and this seemed to work on the smell others reported. We also used trimmed paper coffee filters to keep things easy, and we feel this makes a better cup of coffee and lets us dump the grounds more efficiently. I purchased this as a replacement for the BLACK+DECKER DCM18 Brew 'n Go Personal Coffeemaker with Travel Mug, which is no longer available. I’m really impressed! It brews a perfect cup of coffee every time, and the price is unbeatable. I removed the filter basket and use a #2 recycled cone filter, which filters the coffee faster than the white ones. One person mentioned that the first cup had a plastic taste, but I fixed this by brewing a mixture of 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup water, followed by brewing plain water two more times. I'm very satisfied with this coffee maker; it takes up less space than the Black+Decker. This coffee maker is designed for convenience and efficiency, making it ideal for those who enjoy a quick cup of coffee without the hassle of larger machines. Pros: the silver , grey & white is a great color combination. I like the neutral colors. It is much easier to see how much water there is and any potential issues with this color combination. I like the on button being on the side and no additional buttons. I like the simplicity of this coffee maker Cons: I should have read the other reviews about the button not working correctly. I had the same issue. I was able to turn the button on once while cleaning the machine prior to use. The second time cleaning the machine the on button would not work at all. Prior to the second cleaning I made sure that machine was cooled down. Unplugged it and waited at least 10 minutes. Same issue the machine would not turn on, even after following all the instructions. The machine is defective so I sent it back. The plastic is a not that that thick. Unfortunately I have noticed this awful quality with at least 2 similar 1 cup coffee makers I have purchased under $30. It's not just this brand. Quality in many brands is not as good as it used to be. Initially I was going to take a chance and order another 1 cup coffee maker in the exact same color combination in hopes the on button was just a rare defect. However I decided not to instead I purchased a 1 cup coffee maker that was over $40. It's not as simple and has a few glitches yet the water is hotter and it's a better quality coffee maker. I m hoping that the on button switch on this moddle of coffee maker could be upgraded to something better that actually works. A new and improved switch. If a new and improved model comes out I d take a chance and purchase this coffee maker again. I did like almost everything about it. Except the switch. ... show more
