Mityvac MV7412 10-liter ATF Refill Kit is a compressed-air powered system designed to top off or refill sealed automatic transmissions. It is convenient and simple to use, powered by shop air and no manual pumping is required.. I had used one in my shop for years before the handle broke and wouldn’t pressurize any longer. Here’s the secret sauce: remove the yellow pressure release and install a tire valve stem! Now you have a faster pneumatic bottle and to discharge pressure, just put your air chuck on it without the hose and use that to release the pressure. I did this for a couple years until my friend lowered a car onto it and broke it into pieces.

I care enough to put magnetic drain plugs in my transmissions and differentials. I change gear oil every 30,000 miles. Gearboxes last forever if you do that. I used to use a hand pump that screwed into the top of a one gallon gear oil jug and always wondered if the pumping was ever going to end. I am old enough now to get muscle spasms doing that. Trying to squeeze oil out of a hose connected to a one quart bottle of gear lube ends up with getting oil everywhere. You put the gear oil in this device, pump it up with air and then open a valve and watch the lube go into the gearbox. Close the valve when the gear box is full, put the cap on the fill tube and the only drips are in the catch pan under the gear box fill hole. Using a heat gun to put a short right angle bend on the end of the fill tube can be helpful. I wish I had bought this rig a long time ago! It is the only convenient way to fill a gear box from under a vehicle. Someone with a little plumbing skill will figure out how to pressurize the bottle by converting a spare lid with suitable parts, as I did, but make sure that you use 20PSI regulated air if you were to do that.

I prefer this to the tall vacuum/pressure unit from Mityvac I have. It's faster, less bulky, has a wide opening for easy filling and collecting the drained transmission fluid. Using the pump is not so bad. Sure it's work but the strokes are short so you can be under the vehicle and pump. With the tall Mityvac unit, the stroke is longer and the vehicle would interfere with the pump stroke. The hose on this unit is a clear soft vinyl type instead of the hard white plastic tubing on other units so it is very flexible and easier to feed through the obstacles getting to the fill hole on the transmissions. I'm very happy with this product. I should have purchased it sooner.

I am speaking from experience, as I have bought the less expensive popular brand and returned it prior to this purchase. Mityvac is infinitely better built than the other brand. The other brand failed miserably, and cost me valuable time that I can't get back. Don't waste yours, buy Mityvac! Nothing would get the air out of my clutch, and my vehicle was undriveable for weeks. That's because I didn't buy this brand first! I thought it was "too professional" for the one clutch I needed to bleed. I will use this well made bleeder as long as I live. Look no further.
