Low odor high shine. Takes a bunch of thin coats because if you glob it on it doesn't dry properly. This is the only thing I have found so far that gives my creations a store quality look.

I found this product messy. To squeeze onto a rag is messy, but quick. Or squeeze it into a bowl and paint, which i did but using straight from a tin is better. I’ll keep it for quick jobs and will stick to a tin.

I tried this product hoping that it would be handy for small projects like the pens I make on my lathe. I found it to be easy to apply, but after that, things went downhill fast. It produced a rather rough texture in spite of attempts to smooth it out. It wasn't all that glossy and seemed a bit milky in spite of claims that it would dry clear. I gave this 4 stars because it says high gloss. Its really not. Its a satin gloss at best. I put 6 coats on my first project and got a little shine. Its still a great item and I will buy again. It is easy to use.

We were refinishing a bathroom vanity that was converted from a dresser and has a wooden vanity surface with vessel sinks. I wasn't sure how this clear gloss would compare to the previous poly on the original vanity and especially how it would protect and hold up against water spills. After applying 3 coats to the top of the piece and letting it cure for 24 hours, it wasn't as thick as poly or shiny as I had expected - but I must say it does seem to hold up against water spills. Application was super easy with a clean cloth and I used this on top of one of the similar Minwax Water Based Express Color products. Very happy with the overall finish and ease of application for a first-time stain user. Would definitely use again and recommend. ... show more

I wasn't sure what to make of this product in "gloss" form. I especially wasn't sure after squeezing the tube to see the product was white, not clear. In any event, I applied three gloss coats over Minwax Express - Oak and it actually does leave a gloss finish. I like it! It's easy to use and has almost no odor whatsoever. Easy to use. Does what it claims. MINWAX has great products. (I would recommend storing upside down & unscrewing the top for dispensing (it comes out fast!), rather than "popping it open, to eliminate the product from squirting everywhere. :)
