I built many cherry wood furniture kits many years ago, including the finishing touches like stains & varnish, etc. I got this stain recently just to 'dress up' my ramp in front of the house......this is very easy to apply, looks good and dries very quickly. Much easier, in fact, that I was used to. I topped it off with a sealer because it is outside, but the stain held up quite nicely as I had to wait out the winter weather. I'm pretty satisfied with how well the MINWAX worked. Cudos. Easy. I put a second coat on just because I'm a skeptic, but I don't think it really needed to be done. ... show more

Special walnut on different types of wood ( I don’t know what they are). I added 3 layers and didn’t wipe out with rags as the chair did not absorb the stain well as compared to the cabinet’s doors. Left them dry overnight then added satin top coat.
