  • Enhance, don’t mask
I refinish pieces of furniture that I find in alleys and that have been thrown out. I had this table that had a typical dark stain on it so I sanded it and had planned on painting it after I figured the wood would be in bad shape. Once I got it sanded, I realize the wood was in good shape and had a nice grain, so I tried this butcher block oil. Well, the oil went on smoothly and evenly, and really brought out the grain while not covering anything up. It was a good decision and I’m so glad I didn’t paint over this pretty wood. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great for tables!
I have used this product twice on our dining table. It lasted almost 4 years the first time. The only reason I had to completely redo it was my son put borax on the table during a science experiment and it ate the finish. I will use this product over and over.

  • Beautiful food safe finish
I make custom natural cutting and charcuterie boards. It says 1 coat, but I do one coat then a light sanding and then a second coat. You can see the results. One suggestion, add a light coat of polyurethane for extra shine.

  • too expensive
yes, it does what it says. READ the instructions and do as it says as far as application. this is just too expensive for such a tiny amount but you can't find it any cheaper any where else. use 100% mineral oil for the same look and protection and way cheaper. plus, you can use that to clean your chrome sink~ ... show more

  • Slow and Steady. This product is worth it.
Our home was updated to have just butcher block countertops. After a year or 2 without sealing it we knew we had to get it done. We are a couple of DIY type of people, so we ended up dedicating an entire weekend for this. I would note tac cloth, and a orital sander is a must. We sanded with around 400 grit, wiped away any left over dust, and coated the countertops evenly. I'll like to note that don't go cheap with oil/stain paint brushes it'll make all the difference! After 4 hours we redid the process above. After around 6 coats and a 72 hour curing wait our counters have never looked better, and I know this only added to the value of those butcher block countertops. ... show more
